From the top of Palmer Park, CoSprings

Rocky Mountains day trip

The 16+ miles of moderately 'washboard' road leads through the area of rugged geology and burn-scar and unburnt forest a ways from Walden, CO which was the area of the massive Beaver Creek wildfire in 2016. The heat, that is... a bit of wind for an hour or so, and suddenly the temps drop 10 degrees, even before the rains reach us as they come over Pike's Peak!
