A note on warnings regarding policy violations

We typically use a "three strikes" approach, so that multiple warnings are always sent before accounts are suspended, and we always do our best to clearly describe the issues. (And yes, we can tell when people are receiving warnings, since they respond to them!) However, claiming that no warnings are sent allows suspended members to avoid taking responsibility for their actions, so we expect that such claims will always be made.

The most common infractions on Blogit are copying other people's work (by US law, this can result in up to $150,000 in fines as well as jail time) and verbal abuse, including threats of physical violence. Some people, as I read in a comment earlier today, consider these "small infractions". We consider them big infractions, particularly when they are repeated in an attempt to steal from others and prevent others from expressing their opinion.

For more information on the procedure we follow when reviewing policy violations, please see the Policy Violations help page.

I've canceled my subscription because....

A forum that I once thought to be refreshing and intelligent has turned into the same thing I get in everyday life. Critisim, fingerpointing and childish behaviour among people who profess to be adults. The recent spat about the issue of plagarism was the final straw!

The New Homepage

I finally realized why the new home page may be set up the way that it is-- to cater to people who may be checking out Blogit for the first time.      The homepage is informational and inviting.    They probably figure that the subscribers are  familiar enough with the system to get around to all of the places that we want to get to anyway... and they're right.  Okay, I get it now... it's all good.

Need large font back on blogit

I have special needs and need the large font.

Best way to find new Bloggers.

I don't see any way to search out new Bloggers on your home page. Am I missing something or is it not possible?

It's time to say something nice about the new features

Since I've been protesting things, including things that weren't really there, I thought I would write something nice.

I finally got curious enough to click on "permalink." Great idea! Weird name, but great idea.

Yikes! It WAS a gremlin attack!

Earlier this morning I protested what I thought was a new Blogit small-font format. Then geri asked about my settings, which I thought were perfectly normal, since I didn't have any trouble reading any other regular websites.

Well, get THIS: When I opened a new IE window to read Blogit, it was opened with a "smallest font size" setting, AND.... I have no idea how this is even possible -- when I opened a few more Blogit IE windows (I do that to get URLs I want to include in posts) those also opened smallest.

BUT -- the two other IE windows I had open, which I was using to look at other websites, were set on medium, as usual.

In other words, I opened to IE windows that were normal, then I opened a third for Blogit, and it was mutant. And every subsequent window I opened was mutant!

Do you think it's because I wrote about aliens yesterday?

Anyway, my apologies to Shaycom. I can't remove my post in the Town Square, but you might want to do it to avoid confusion. I'll amend my Bunny Blog post.

Major, Major MAJORRRRRR PROTEST!

I do NOOOOOOTTTTTTT want to have to reset my IE view every time I want to post or read Blogit!!!! Why did you reset all the fonts and features to a small size?

The large-format of Blogit is one of the things that used to set you apart from other blog sites. Blogit was EASY TO READ.

Hasn't this "tiny font" trend burned itself out already, anyway?

Small font haters of Blogit, unite! Laptop users of Blogit, unite! Special-vision-needs members of Blogit, unite! Bifocal wearers of Blogit, unite! All people over the age of thirty on Blogit, unite!

Protest! Fight the trendy tiny fonts! Don't just reply to this message! Post your own!
