The worst psychic in the world
When I wrote about our trip to the Ren Faire, I didn't write about this. I noticed a psychic reader I hadn't seen before, although she's been there for a few years. I thought I would give her a try. She has an unusual deck, and with it she declared that * I love to travel * I travel a lot * I feel... Sign in to see full entry.

And the most exciting Olympic winter sport is....
....anything to do with snowboarding. That has been my favorite to watch. I also like the skiing slaloms. The women really had their jobs cut out for them in that terrible weather! Speed-skating was super-exciting tonight, but overall, even thought I skate, I still like watching the snowboarding... Sign in to see full entry.

It's the fault of that stupid scoring system!
My theory has been proven! The Olympic figure skaters have not all lost their minds. Tonight was the Gala exhibition for the medal winners and other notable skaters. I didn't see every single skater, but I saw most of them, and in every case they had great artistic expression. Their choreography fit... Sign in to see full entry.

A day in a corset!
I didn't watch the ice dancing finals last night because I was busy having a life. Yesterday we made our annual Presidents' Day pilgrimage to the Renaissance Faire. I really needed a new leather corset because I've lost so much weight (whooo hooooo!) that my old one is hopelessly large. Okay, it... Sign in to see full entry.

New scoring system claims another victim!
You know how ice dancing is usually a very safe, art-oriented event? NOT ANY MORE! I lost count of how many couples fell. One woman was taken away in an ambulance. The announcers were shocked. They said, "It's rare to see even a single fall in a competition." But now all the couples are trying to... Sign in to see full entry.

We were in a parade!
Today was the Parada del Sol, which runs through downtown Scottsdale. It's a horse-intensive parade, with lots of costumed riding teams and all the floats pulled by draft horses. We weren't riding, although I'd love to do that someday. When we move to the north part of town we will probably board... Sign in to see full entry.

What'dya know: Ice-dancing is pretty good!
I've never been an ice-dancing fan, but after seeing a little clip of the new US team featuring a woman who was truly sexy -- not that awful madulin pretend sexy you always see -- I thought it would be worthwhile to catch it. As it happened, I turned on the TV just as they begin the set with the top... Sign in to see full entry.

Nicotine makes you stupid!
It must, because how else can you explain this: In response to the growing number of companies who charge smokers more for health insurance than non-smokers, the owner of a tobacco store in Ohio, said, "Are they going to start saying you can't wear a blue shirt on Monday or drive a green car on...
