Bird flu scares consumers; Drug company curtails sales of antiviral remedy

Sometimes good business isn’t a good thing for the business itself. Roche, the Switzerland-based pharmaceutical company, is finding itself in the odd position of refusing to sell its product to its customers. A bit of a backdrop: as the threat of bird-flu grew, and the introduction of the antiviral... Sign in to see full entry.

They're going to start putting warning labels on glue

For those of us coming through the '60s and '70s, it's not for the reason you're thinking. Remember the story many of us discussed the other day about the guy who is suing his former loved one for gluing his --- parts --- to his other parts? Well, Reuters just reported that a man is suing Home Depot... Sign in to see full entry.

Superglue on the genitals...an urban legend

Reuters is reporting that a guy is suing a woman for using glue in a bad place. It's on the record. Now, I know a guy who moved in a with a woman who said she did that to her ex. MY QUESTION to the guy is...and you would move in with this person, WHY? Have you heard this story before? I'm starting... Sign in to see full entry.

No wonder foreigners think we're idiots...and no wonder east coast

Americans make fun of their west coast neighbors. Again, people, I don't have to make this stuff up. It just pops up...stuff done by real people for our listening and viewing and heckling enjoyment. An upscale beach in California has been handing out safety pamphlets to beachgoers and surfers. Seems... Sign in to see full entry.

You gotta love the ego of the *star*

I just read an article that said Gerard Depardieu, the french actor from Green Card, Cyrano, and a few less notable things, has announced he's not going to make anymore films. He said he's made 170 films and doesn't want to go out making an idiot of himself. Now, at the risk of ticking off all the... Sign in to see full entry.

American Cat Runs Away. Found in France

This comes from Mike again. Some of my best stuff gets pilfered from his emails to me. Emily is a cat like any other, only she went AWOL a month ago. The enterprising feline ended up in some cargo that landed in France. Can you imagine getting lost, then ending up in France? Sign in to see full entry.

Guns Don't Kill People. Really, really stupid people --- and cows --- kill

Yes, it's another cow thing. It's scary. In Sydney a guy was trying to kill his friend's cow had a serious run of bad luck---but not as bad as the others. No one asked if the friend wanted the man to kill the cow, or for what reason, btw...I think those are big things that someone should ask. Okay,... Sign in to see full entry.

Okay maybe you don't wear fur or leather, but how far do *you* take it?

Rome's City Council just passed a law that goldfish bowls are cruel and unusual... so they're banned. Moreover, they've made it mandatory that dogs should be walked. Who is going to enforce the dog thing? How would someone know? MY DOG, whose stomach hangs down about as far as his "old man mole"... Sign in to see full entry.

Rosa Parks dead. It makes me think of people I would have like to have met

The people I give the title hero to generally don't come from the same categories so many people pick from. Rosa Parks was one of them mainly because she really didn't mean to cause a stir...she just did what she wanted to do because it seemed like the sensible/normal thing to do. Rachel Carson was... I hate when I cough up a screw. It really sets a bad vibe in motion...

for the week, don't you think. So, I try to avoid it, if I can. A man in Brussels fell off a ladder and injured 2 vertabrae. Doctors had to put in a steel plate to fix it. And it seemed to fix it. I don't know what the warranty on something like this is, but bottom line is, he's got screws loose... Sign in to see full entry.
