Actions That Are Right

I analyze my life and know that it is not the last. I think not of the future; I think not of the past. The only thing that matters, the only thing that’s true, Is the moment I am currently in; the moment that I do. More cycles do not mean that my concern should not be How I act within each moment, for each action defines me. If my goal is spiritual growth that leads me to the light, Then the only actions that must occur are actions that are right. Sign in to see full entry.

Buddha and Jesus

Some interesting qoutes from Buddha and Christ: Buddha: They agreed among themselves, friends, here comes the recluse, Gotama, who lives luxuriously, who gives up his striving and reverted to luxury. Jesus: The son of humanity came eating and drinking and they said look a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners. Buddha: With the relinquishing of all thought and egotism, the enlightened one is liberated through not clinging. Jesus: Those who want to save their life will... Sign in to see full entry.

Desire Widens the Chasm Between Myself and the Divine

Desire is what is currently widening the chasm between myself and the Divine. Even though I’ve been blessed as a conduit of sorts, writing a story that speaks to truths about God, I find that my desire to share this story with others often times becomes my main goal – supplanting all others - even my own spiritual growth. While there is nothing wrong with the action of writing a book about spiritual truths (in fact, action is a requirement for growth), going beyond that action and hoping for, or... Native American Prayer for Peace

A prayer for peace that I came across: Oh Great Spirit of our Ancestors, I raise my pipe to you. To your messengers the four winds, and to Mother Earth who provides for your children. Give us the wisdom to teach our children to love, to respect, and to be kind to each other so that they may grow with peace of mind Let us learn to share all good things that you provide for us on this Earth. Prayer of Mother Teresa

I came across this prayer by Mother Teresa, and enjoyed it so much I thought I would share it: Dear Jesus, Help us to spread your fragrance everywhere we go, flood our souls with your Spirit and life. Penetrate and possess our whole being so utterly that our lives may only be a radiance of yours. Shine through us and be so in us that every soul we come in contact with may feel your presence in our soul. Let them look up and see no longer us but only Jesus. Stay with us and then we shall begin to... Sign in to see full entry.

Mirror Neurons and Our Interconnectedness

So, I just finish learning about Ho’oponopono, the Hawaiian concept of everything being connected and that we are all a part of the process of creating our reality, and I pick up last week’s Time magazine and begin to read an article on what are called mirror neurons. These neurons, found in humans, fire whenever we initiate an act. No big deal there, but what is interesting is that they also fire when we watch someone else initiate an act. Not only do they fire, but they fire in exactly the... Sign in to see full entry.

Ho'oponopono

I read an article over the week end about an ancient Hawaiian healing system called ho‘oponopono, and what I read blew me away. According to Hawaiian shamans, ho‘oponopono heals others by healing one’s self. Ancient Hawaiians believed that everything that is real starts as a thought. Since this is the case, then any person is a projection of your thoughts. And since your thoughts contain everything that comes from you (pain, joy, etc.), then those people who are in pain are in pain because of... Sign in to see full entry.

Reunion With the Divine

He was born a prince And yet he reached the Divine. Under a bhodi tree A quiet mind found the sign. Born a carpenter He became a loving Christ. All to well he knew His Self would be sacrificed. One’s station in life Does not draw the final line That leads a soul to Reunion with the Divine. Sign in to see full entry.
