Caitlin, my nearly 17 year-old, has been out of her cast for three weeks now, and she says she's not able to run. My mother asked me if she had completed all her therapy since having the cast removed. I gotta tell you, the doctor never gave her any exercises to do. He only said she'd be ready to go... Giambi Hits a Gapper to Right to Drive in the Winning Run..................
Bottom of the ninth, three to two, Mets vs. the Yanks, Mets up four to three. Subway series of late June split. For the second time in eleven days Jason Giambi wins the game with a clutch hit in the midst of a dismal dry spell. He has been hurt and has appeared ill. I even posted in this space last... I Have Good News and Great News to Report -- Do Not Miss This!
OK, First the good news. The Ankeny Classic Car Show is now history for the second year in a row. We performed best we could, everyone seemed to like it, and the show was a huge success, at least doubling the amount of cars and people. Ninety cars and a thousand people. I'm sitting here, doubled... Sign in to see full entry.

I Was Like Some Dufus Country Bumpkin, Fresh from the Appalachians.
Well, the century mark! I never thought it would happen for me but it has! God bless each and every one of you. I don't know what I have done to deserve your patronage. The Behavior that Caused our Successful Divorce
Well, I honestly thought that I would tell her in no uncertain terms that she cannot come to this house, and then she would make a move in a different direction. I may have a stalker on my hands. That night my cell phone kept ringing and she would wait until I answered and then start the Exorcist... Sign in to see full entry.

Being an Emotionally Connected Father is So Worth the Time/Effort it Takes
Last night the girls and I went to Barnes and Noble. They woke me up from a nice nap on the couch and got me to agree to take them, even though it was already about 8:30. I have to compare that experience to the time nine years ago when they physically pulled me out of the tent, at the Grand Canyon... Sign in to see full entry.

Did I Mention I've Never Missed a Child Support Payment?
Irony happens. After nine years of collecting child support from me, about ten thousand per year, after the last three years in which both children have lived with me 24-seven, I was forced to decline my ex a room in our house. It happened like this. She went to live with her mom and dad, to take... Sign in to see full entry.

Dear Ca88i, Thank you so much for your continued patronage. Since I first started on Blogit! you have read and commented on my blogs every week. I look forward to your words and thoughts. Now who says an old dog can't learn new tricks?
My class today was great. We are learning new ways to teach teachers how to teach vocabulary. There is some new research saying that teaching vocabulary in explicit ways -- that means standing in front of the class and teaching all language groups at the same level and at the same time -- is... A Few More Reality Checks: Zap! For Educaiton
If I may continue from yesterday...I felt I should give a global solution to the homework problem in the inner-city. Of course many of you have your own ideas. My children attend Ankeny Public Schools, an upper middleclass school district, and have for a decade almost. From the first day of school... Sign in to see full entry.
