Religion in the Modern World: Why do bloggers come out of the woodwork when someone mentions gays?

Make no mistake however, patience with the bible lobotomized, (or those rendered dysfunctional by any holy book for that matter), is still in short supply. Why do bloggers come out of the woodwork when someone mentions gays?

This is an expansion of a question posed in a post by: cantey_1975 So, why is the question of homosexuality such a hot issue, sure to draw opinions from the entire spectrum of collective thought?
