I just talked to the Tricia Gingras, mother of Gabby who has CIPA, not CIDA- that was a mistake- (no pain disease). I looked up her number on the internet and called her in Elk Park, MN. She was very nice and offered to help me by putting me in touch with some adults with the disease if they choose... Sign in to see full entry.

Greetings All!
I had my last official day at Whole Children for a while. I'm going to miss those kids a lot, but the director says I can hang out with them every week or so and I'm going to work with the teens in the fall. This guy Michael, the teen planner, is supposed to call me for help planning events. I can't... Sign in to see full entry.

Bah!
I found out this morning that I probably won't keep volunteering at Whole Children in the summer, Carrie told me told me today because they're afraid I'll accidently hit a kid with my chair because they children think it's fun to hide behind the chair and they're too small for me to see. We have a... Sign in to see full entry.

End of Week One...
I'm glad to have to the weekend off; I'm happy with my new job. My kids are fun, but it's a big deal to hang out with kids with serious developmental issues for 3 hours a day, 5 days a week. I cut ribbon today because the kids were making ribbon wands and I tried to read the boys a story but I... Sign in to see full entry.

They very sweet and nice mostly, although they have a lot of issues, especially Sam. I practiced circus stuff with them today. I need to call my mom about barrowing our van. I... I Was Watching...
I was viewing A Girl Like Me: the Gwen Araujo Story, the tale of a transgendered girl who was murdered for being who she was. My DVR cut off the tape about half an hour. It's airing again Sunday and I can't wait to see the end, although I know (sadly) what happened. I can't imagine anyone... Sign in to see full entry.

On Today...
I'm feeling much better today. Laura's done being for awhile I think. Natalie, my ex-PCA, is bitchy about a missing hour, which I'm trying to fix. I wouldn't worry so much about an hour if I were her; it's about $8.50 after taxes. That's nothing to worry about, in my opinion. But some people are... Sign in to see full entry.

Just Today
I had a long day. I saw The Revolution Will Not be Televised, a film about Venezuela. I went to the NACUL center, a local art gallery. I meant a cool artist, who might help illustrate my eugenics book. I am also going to Camp Sundown, the Xeroderma Pigmentosum (extreme sun sensitivity) teen camp as... Sign in to see full entry.

On This Day...
I had a blood draw today and I requested that my doctor write a "please let Martina have a pet cat note because it'll be good for her mental health "note for my landlord. We almost needed to walk home from the doctor, but the van service had a cancel. Otherwise we would have been there for two hours... Sign in to see full entry.

My Day...
I'm happy; actually reading my research for the novel and watching Law & Order at the same time, plus now I'm writing to you. Tomorrow I've got a doctor's appointment and track practice for the last time, plus the computer guy is coming at 8:00 PM to fix Dragon. Deb's coming over to learn about my...
