Thoughts and Signs

I'm writing to calm down before I go to my workshop. Was really happy because I heard from my Kenyan disability rights advocate friends via e-mail yesterday. I felt like just falling to my knees and thanking God that they weren't murdered or in jail. No one had heard anything from for months and... Sign in to see full entry.

New Attitude

Went to a really cool Tsumnami benefit. Had prayers from 4 faiths at the end. Lots of my friends were there; many I hadn't seen in a long time. My friend Yaju was the MC. There was lots of music, which was very centering. I got past my money issues for a minute and remembered how truly lucky I am. I... Sign in to see full entry.

Just to vent- revised

This morning I posted the following entry: In about 10 minutes I'm going to get on the van service to go to to Amherst where I will spend the last of my available credit on copies and printing for an event tonight. Bah! I hope it's worth it. { Then I went away and did things for a few hours }. Now,... Sign in to see full entry.

My evening, my anger

I went to a meeting about special ed in Belchertown. I don't understand what's going in this town. Why are we lowering taxes when we had to lay of 28 educators in the past three years, including 5 in special ed, have totally abolished health education below 8th grade, and don't have nurses at every... Whining About Money

I'm even more poor than I thought. I'd forgotten about something I charged for the Ugandans. I now have a few bucks in my wallet, some change plus $7 in the bank, $6.36 in food stamps remaining, and $8 or so on the credit card. That's less than $25 and it's not all in spendable cash. Tomorrow I'll... Sign in to see full entry.

Today's report

I've had a busy day although I slept through half of it; I even forgot to eat dinner until now (it's nearly 10 PM here) I woke up near 1:00 in the afternoon. I'm now scheduled to do a disability workshop at our local V-Day celebration next Sunday (as in in 6 days). It's lucky that I can do those... Sign in to see full entry.

Busy Day of Rest

My legs are shaky after a day of climbing in and out of my PCA's car to go to a Swing the Vote (Progressive Electoral Reform) event. It was pretty cool, though. I signed up to work on electoral reform and announced my candidacy for Selectmen. People seemed really responsive, writing down my number... Sign in to see full entry.

Finally Productive!

After depositing $23 in Ugandan reimbursement to make sure ADAPT's check didn't bounce and get money for tickets to the event ( great- $12 more campaign debt ), I walked to the pasta dinner and talent show because the van service screwed up. Had a good time and made a good impression I think, but... Sign in to see full entry.

Meds Working!

The meds worked, so I got lots of sleep and feel better. I got my computer fixed ( Jessica fixed it). I joined a children's book club to get books for Uganda cheap. I've been using my credit card to much to buy them things. Tomorrow I go to Amherst to return books and ran a few errands. I'm also... Sign in to see full entry.

Another Med for Me

Saw the doctor today. He gave me Ambien, a sleeping pill. I've never taken sleeping pills before. It really makes me nervous but I'm desperate. I tried to nap for four hours; got about 45 minutes of actual sleep. Goodness knows that can't continue. More stuff Uganda today as well. The books came... Sign in to see full entry.
