The 2nd Day of My 29th Year

Today I overslept and missed the Memorial Day parade in my my town, but did get out the house for a few errands; thus keeping vow #6 from my birthday list. Despite that mistake, all my laundry is clean and I had a good dinner of freshly cooked chicken, potatoes, and corn on the cob. I've had 3... Sign in to see full entry.

The First Journal Entry of My 29th Year

On the first day of my my 29th year, I did not go to a tag sale as I planned but I did acquire 8 pairs of shoes (6 new, 2 used) for the Ugandans, plus a new potential donor; thus fufilling my annual birthday community service requirement. Then I go dressed up to go my birthday gathering at Amherst... Sign in to see full entry.

The Final Day I Am 28!

The last day of my 28th year didn't start out well at all. First, the van service was late and then they had me going to the wrong place. I had to take the bus to Amherst and arrived almost two hours late! Then there were no more delivery guys at the Amherst Survival Center's used furniture sale... Sign in to see full entry.

Yet Another Reason Able-Bodied Culture Sucks!

Sahar (my PCA) isn't able-bodied; most days she thinks she is, but she just isn't. No one with the myriad of health problems and chronic injuries she's had can be. Yet, because she appears to be most of the time, she's subjected, and has been since childhood to the "every man is an island crap" that... Sign in to see full entry.

Yay... Hoorah... Thank God... Amen... Ye haw! (Can you tell I'm happy?)

I'm going to be a licensed dance instructor after all! My loan came through today. And I'll be able to pay off the shippers for the Uganda stuff because I'm getting $5000 (that's the minimum they'll lend) and only need around $3,800 for everything. Plus My interest is only going to be 9.4% over 3... Sign in to see full entry.

Monday....

I had a day full of naps and phone calls, along with a few cool surprises. First off, I got good news about my Personal Care Assistance program from the state and shared 2 neat e-mails with the woman I met at Hfriends (a dating website for people with disabilities). My friend Kierstal also finished... Sign in to see full entry.

The Past Three Days

I've been around Blogit, but haven't written for a while. My friend Grace was over Friday and we talked until really late. Plus, I'd been running around before that. Went to Chicopee for chair repair, the bank, Bob's for Scrabble, Amherst for errands, and Springfield to pick up things for the... Sign in to see full entry.

It Worked!

My Dennis Kucinich rountine payed off! Jim Barry won a seat on the Board of Selectman. Aponte is out! I felt like I was really doing my part for democracy sitting there with my sign that read: If you are here to vote for me, Martina Robinson, I implore you to vote for Jim Barry instead. I believe he... Sign in to see full entry.

The Best of Intentions...

I meant to have a full day today and it started out that way. I caught the van service into Amherst and went to a carnival where I had fried dough and bought both a raffle ticket to support the Massachusetts Solidiers' Lagacy Fund (and maybe win a $500 dollar savings bond) and a full plastic bags of... Today...

I applied for yet more loans today and have a bit more hope for getting to Oregon now, although I'm going to be cutting it close as far as timing goes. I also meant with the surrogate reviewer from Starvos (the agency that pays my PCAs) I got some more support for dealing with International Freight... Sign in to see full entry.
