Gas Theft on the Rise . . . ..

Interesting story in today's Virginian-Pilot regarding the rise in thefts of gasoline at convenience stores that sell gasoline: Stealing Gas The increased price of gasoline is given as the reason, but, think about it. In even a 20-gallon tank, and an increase of 10 cents a gallon, you are looking at an addition $2 for a tank of gas. Some of the thieves mentioned in the story had SUVs, so don't tell me they were hurting for money. They are opportunists, at best, and bottom line, they are thieves.... Sign in to see full entry.

Excitement over the FBI Photos . . . . .

These photos of the terrorists recently published have been around for a while. Why just publish them now? Have the terrorists depicted suddenly become more dangerous, or was it just a slow news day? And, if they had the terrorists present to photograph, why didn't they just keep them? Maybe we should start deputizing the photographers. In a recent speech, he demanded that the President disavow Rush Limbaugh! As if Bush owns and operates Rush! A Flaw in Our Planning . . . .

Everyone seems to be centered on building a Western-Style Democracy in Iraq. Have we considered that there are differences in culture and character that we must address in our installation of a new Iraqi government? Obviously, the new government has to be more centered on the people's needs, and on an equality among the various religious and ethnic groups making up the citizens of Iraq.
