This post was inspired by Mike’s_Goddess; see "What I know about being a beautiful fat woman" for what she has to say about weight. I have sometimes wondered if I'm odd because I'm not ashamed or embarrassed by my large self. My mother and sisters (never my dad) do their best, but it is clear they... Sign in to see full entry.

Live and Learn

I learned a lot from last weekend. For one thing, an important thing, I learned how sharing and caring a group of strangers can be. The bloggers here are a wonderful group, ready to offer moral support and help to someone they've never met--in the flesh, that is. Thank you all. What my experience... Sign in to see full entry.

I wanna talk about me

I’m being very self-indulgent this morning, and feeling sorry for myself to boot. I want to whine and cry a little about my problems, so if you’re not into that sort of thing, you might want to look for some brighter posts (mine, please), and thank you for the click. I wanna talk about me, but I'd... Sign in to see full entry.

Progress Update

Progress. Well, none really, except in my head. But tonight after work, my husband and I went to the warm water therapy pool at the athletic club to which we pay membership dues every month, even though we haven't gone there in quite a while. The warm water pool is about 100 deg, I believe. It just... Sign in to see full entry.

Food Memories

Yup, I’ve got ‘em. A large part of my life growing up in the Great Lakes region is food memories. You know, those family gatherings with everyone eating a terrific meal, birthday dinners, church suppers, picnics, ice cream treats, movie popcorn, grandma’s cookies, food everywhere, food, food, food.... Look at that Lady!

I had an experience while shopping in a Dollar Tree store yesterday. I should begin by saying that I am very overweight; very large by anyone's standards. I've struggled with weight gain for years, but the past few years have been devastating in that regard. Roaming around the store, I passed a... Sign in to see full entry.

Night Creatures

OK, so the foam mattress pad works. My husband says his various aches are much better. After about three days of waking up miserable, it now seems fine to me, too. In fact, I can move my head/neck again, so that's a plus. I have noticed I'm sleeping deeper, waking up less than before. I still don't... Sign in to see full entry.

Welcome Back, Sister . . .

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia several years ago. I've talked to (and read) many people with fibro who say they hurt when they get up in the morning. They also feel awful, as if they hadn’t slept at all. I have fibro, but I did not have those problems, and this morning I found out why. For... Sign in to see full entry.

Walk This Way

There are a few Web sites that I have found useful in the never-ending battle to regain fitness. Thought I'd share them. www.fitday.com (FitDay) is a free, online diet and fitness journal. After signing on, you can keep track of food, activities, nutritional analyses, weight, and goals. It will... Sign in to see full entry.

It's the WEEKEND!

I love weekends. This one could be especially good because I'm taking most of next week off (working Wednesday only) to spend time with one of our daughters and her new husband as they come to visit from another state. As to being "new," he is actually her first and only husband, not a new one as... Sign in to see full entry.
