Congrats, Wiley, on dropping those pounds.  You're an inspiration.

Well I've been dieting since last January and have finally dropped from 245lbs to 224, so if I can lose another 25 lbs I'll be happy,  Good for you and the pool and all, I guess I've got to get back on the treadmill again.

Angel & Ca88. . .

Thanks for your support.  I have already asked for more time that I can be there; this is the result.  I'm happy; before I talked to the manager (one of my neighbors), there were only two weeknights when I could go after work.  Plus, they have ruled that play balls cannot be in the pool, which is nice.  During family swim times, it's enough to dodge the kids without having to worry about getting a large ball in the head.

Families are the mainstay of this club.  They get the most money for family memberships, of course, and it's understandable that they cater to them.  We fall into an odd spot because of our age.  I notice more and more that many places, not just the athletic club, offer classes and activities for "seniors," beginning at age 55, during the day.  I have a full-time job, and will for at least the next 5 years.  The way things look with the current economy, and if Social Security is phased out, I will not get to retire ever, and I think that will be true of more and more people.  Until we are a bigger group with a bigger voice than young families, guess I'll have to work around their schedule.  I'm just happy there are times for us, and that we can afford to belong.  I have been a member so long, it costs the same as the local YMCA membership and offers more activities for us.

Thanks for reading.  I'm very down today (election mess), so it's nice to see positive thoughts.

Witchflower, I would be asking the club to extend the hours. I bet others feel the same. The warm water sounds wonderful!

Running to catch up with the available timing

sounds tiring enough.

Isn't that the truth?
As I am fond of saying:  Work so interferes with my life.  Be hard to survive without it, though.  Thanks for the cheery note.  I'm a computer chair spud.

As if it isn't difficult enough to get motivated to work out now you can't even go during the 3 minutes a day that you ARE motivated.  That's my time frame.  If I feel it and I can get to the gym fast enough then I'll work out. If the three minutes of "Oh yeah, today's the day" runs out before I am on my way then another couch potato day ensues.  I feel for you.
