Feel Good Music

I can't stop watching this and laughing. She makes me want to get up and do it with her. That is what I call a performance. If there's anything we need in this world of tragedy and disasters, it is a little tenderness, a little music, a little fun, and a little laughter. Good going, Cyndi. Sign in to see full entry.

Separation

Great-grandbaby Marianna and her US Marine Daddy have been apart for days now. He had to be in CA for duty. Marianna is with Mommy in her new home in MO. But, one thing is very nice. If she had remained in CA, she and Mommy would be all alone while Daddy is doing his duty. But, in MO, she is having... Sign in to see full entry.

Umbrella Lament

The last chunk of venison from the freezer made a really good pot of chili for these cold, wet, windy, cloudy days that should be sunny and warm by now. I've gotta get out in it and I don't really want to. But, you would not believe how out of staples we are because I have put off shopping for so... Sign in to see full entry.

Poor Thumb

I cut my thumb today with a knife that son sharpened for me. It wasn't too bad. I will live, but it did bleed, and bleed, and bleed. I had to wait a while before I could finish making my salad. The cucumbers, and the carrots, and the red onions, the bell peppers the parsley, and celery didn't give... Sign in to see full entry.

Midnight Music

When your eyes won't close at midnight, and turning in the bed is like rolling in the deep, turn on that jazz rendition and be glad you need no sleep. Sign in to see full entry.

The Road Well-Traveled

Great-Grand Baby Marianna is now an official resident of Missouri. She arrived from California last evening and the first thing unloaded and set up was her crib. Welcome home Marianna. The 70-mile part of I-35 on this map that is outlined in bright red is going to be well-traveled, both coming and... Sign in to see full entry.

Four Days Ago

I like watching old Law and Order episodes, now and then, on TV. I especially like watching the old ones that starred the man who was the girls' father on Dirty Dancing and that man who played a Kiowa Indian back in the 1970's in the movie Eagle's Wing. He played such a believable native American... Sign in to see full entry.

In A Pig's Eye

Everything looks dead. But there is life in there somewhere. The snow is gone, and the sun is shining, and the birds are singing, and it is 60 o. Something good must be happening. At a service station where Son #1 often fills up his gas tank, a container was found that said "keep on ice". The person... Sign in to see full entry.

Lesson Not Learned

It is no secret that a big mouth can get one in trouble. When a big mouth is partnered with a little mind, it is inevitable that sooner or later the bird brain will foul his own nest. We have been putting up with one of those at our apartment complex--a foul-mouthed, verbally abusive, idiot, for one... Sign in to see full entry.

The Grip Of Virgil

Forewarned is forearmed, so said someone in modern history, I just can't remember who. They (weather men/women) have been warning us for days on end now and suddenly, this afternoon, their predictions came to fruition. We are in the grip of Virgil. Virgil is, hopefully, the last snowstorm of the... Sign in to see full entry.
