Practice Makes Perfect?

Well, I can see, in regard to the last post, that I am going to be practicing for a really long time. I've been sitting around inside much too much this cold winter and I have forgotten how to "move". I am afraid that it is a losing battle. By the time I practice enough to be a good enough "Crackin'... Sign in to see full entry.

Grandma Gangnam

While watching Super Bowl 2013, I saw and fell in love with the Wonderful Pistachios Get Crackin' Gangnam Style ad (see below) and I decided that I want to practice a bit and do a mock up of the ad calling it Get Crackin' Grandma Style. I decided to do this for several reasons: • I love pistachio... Sign in to see full entry.

Closed

The windows are not open today. The temperature dropped in the wee hours of the morning. The wind is cold, whipping around the corners of the building, flapping the flag of the complex at the entrance, bending the naked branches of the trees. The sky is somber grey and constant rain is keeping the... Sign in to see full entry.

Extreme Changes Can Kill

I can't believe the sun is shining, that it is 74 o outside, that my windows are wide open letting in some fresh air. I'm enjoying it while I can, for snow is again in the forecast with a very extreme drop in temperature. Can you see the little squares in the sky of the picture. I just took the... Diversion Comes In Strange Forms

The world's largest Cheeto found in a bag is now enshrined on a velvet cushion under a glass dome in a restaurant in Iowa It is corroborated to being the largest by a certificate from the company itself, Frito-Lay. Why does anyone care? Why doesn't someone just crush the hunk of junk food under the... Sign in to see full entry.

Doing It Right

Pain perdu is a great love offering for a special-occasion breakfast/brunch for special people in your life. Nothing else is needed, except fresh strawberries, perhaps some crispy bacon strips or some spicy link sausages, and a pot of hot coffee. I learned this some years back from The Barefoot... Surprise!

My hat came today--It's perfect! I love it! The woolen yarn originally grew on a New Zealand grey sheep and it was hand crocheted just for me. I feel very special. It fits like a dream. The surprise is that there was with it in the package a baby one for Great-grandbaby Marianna. I keep laughing... Sign in to see full entry.

No Garage, Only A Parking Lot

In the wintertime when all the air in the house is dry from whatever type of heater that you use to keep you warm, your throat, nasal passages and skin get so dry and uncomfortable. That's when it's time to pull the cool-mist humidifier out of storage, if you haven't already. It really makes a big... Sign in to see full entry.

Getting Used To Change

A previous post of mine carried the tale of our 1982 Samsung microwave oven dying the death of a rag doll after continuous use all of these years. It gave us good service. It was a really big one that took up lots of room in a corner of our kitchen cabinet. We are finding out that it didn't have... Sign in to see full entry.

I Believe In Smoke Alarms

Last evening very near where we live, a woman and her three beloved dogs died in a fire. We heard the sirens about 8:30 p.m. The breaking news was horrifying. A retired fireman passing by tried to save her but he couldn't reach her. She had gone to bed early and was apparently sleeping when the fire... Sign in to see full entry.
