Yes, consider yourself quite fortunate. During past conflicts, once someone found themselves overseas, an occasional letter might have been all the news or correspondence you would get from them! That he's able to "call" is remarkable in and of itself. I'm sure he'll be alright . . .

Yes, we must take our blessings where we find them. I too am so happy he is safe, he and all military members are in my nightly prayers...God bless them, everyone.

Yes a wonderful relief, sometimes loved ones had to wait months for a letter as you know. Still stressful though as always.
