Being Silly With Friends

I love to laugh. it makes me feel good-- so awful much better than complaining would. Laughter! Stress disappears, and pain may lessen, as everyone knows that's a real blessin'. Laughter! Social life grows, as frown disappears for face always shows (as everyone knows) they won't be lambasted with... Sign in to see full entry.

Playing The Hacker Game

Yes, they got me. Day before yesterday they locked up my computer so I couldn't do a thing. It was so frustrating, and so nerve wracking trying to fix it. I spent six straight hours without a break messing around with fellows I could not understand well, who said they were helping me fix it, but... Sign in to see full entry.

Since I have become decrepit, P.D. has been doing my grocery shopping so that I wouldn't have to carry bags in and up the eight stairs to our landing. He usually does the shopping on Saturday so that Phil can go with him. Phil helps carry the bags in with a great big smile on his face, then heads... Sign in to see full entry.

Why does 41 o seem so cold? In the middle of winter I would pray for 41 o. I hope I soon become acclimated to the change of weather. But, as soon as I get used to the cooler weather, we will have another hot spell. That's the way it goes in our state. You wouldn't believe the clothing I have put on... Sign in to see full entry.

Praise Where It Is Due

Yesterday they built the porch/balcony Today they are out there caulking the screw indentations and getting ready to paint. I am more than satisfied. The contractors ended up being very good at what they do and worked nine continuous hours to get it done in one day so we wouldn't forget and walk out... Sign in to see full entry.

Many moons ago (actually four score & two days ago) when the deluge was upon our land (the Midwest, and Kansas City in particular) and flooding did abound, and many suffered loss, I posted here that much water had come beneath the sliding-glass doors to our porch and somehow poured into our dining... Where is Michael? Had he gone back to Afghanistan? Was he still in Florida? Did he think I didn't even care? It seemed as if the grieving process was tearing family apart. Everyone was lost in their own feelings, living with their own hurt. I remember that so clearly from back in 1967 when my... Sign in to see full entry.

Leading The Pack, Keeping Up, Falling Behind

There was a time in my life when I was definitely in the lead position and I loved it. I must say that it is definitely exhilarating. But time and chance wait for no man. Years roll by and before one knows it, falling behind becomes a way of life. Even that can be exhilarating if one knows how to... Sign in to see full entry.

One Day Ago

Before the rains come, one can feel it in the air and know it is coming. Tonight is a good example of that. I can feel it in my head that it is going to be one of those downpours where streams form quickly and flow down the hills to the low places where the waters collect and block the roads, where... Family Traits And Lots Of Love

One hundred and eleven years old--that's what my mother would have been tomorrow if she were living, but she only made it to eighty nine. October 6 always brings to me so many memories every year. She was a very special lady and I have always wished I was more like her. But, I also have too many... Sign in to see full entry.
