The Unemployment Office--Or the biggest group of incompetents

Yes, it has come to this. Carl is a Carpenter by trade. His civilian employer wants him back and will have him back in a few weeks but in the meantime no work means one thing, the good old unemployment office. Here in Michigan the budget has been severely cut for this part of our local gov't. So... Sign in to see full entry.

Catching Up

It feels like months since I have actually had a chance to post here, so here is a quick catch up. Carl is home and needless to say most of my time is centered around him. I am having a harder time adjusting than he is; I will write about that soon. We have spent a good portion of our time in the... Sign in to see full entry.

The unit was due to arrive around 5:30, Michigan had a hell of a snowstorm and they didn't get there till 8 PM, oddly enough when they left it was also at 8 PM. As the busses pulled into the armory a VERY... Sign in to see full entry.

64 Hours And 30 Minutes Left

In 64.5 hours Carl will be in my arms. I am going insane just waiting. For the past couple of days it's been a manic cleaning craze and now I am starting to re-clean just because I can't stay sill. I sent out my final HomeFront column this morning, somehow that felt like saying goodbye to an old... Sign in to see full entry.

As The Hours Drag

Hours feel like day and days feel like weeks but in the end there are only 3 days and an odd number of hours left before I have my soldier in my arms once again. I seem to have some kind of odd disorder these days that causes me to suddenly break out into a huge smile for no obvious reason to the... Sign in to see full entry.

America The Beautiful!!!!

Carl arrived in the states around 3 AM, we are finally in the same time zone and the same country. It is killingm e to stay put here at home and not get in the car and head to New Jersey, but we both agreed it is best if I stay home and wait for him. He said something about the weather being...
