Israel's Medical Outreach

If anyone out there thinks that Israel's quick and effective rescue and medical response to the Haiti earthquake was an anomaly (or worse, a PR "stunt"), I'm here to tell you that that little nation has had a 50 year history offering humanitarian aid around the world. In 1959, Hadassah Hospital (located in Jerusalem) sent a group of ophthalmologists to African countries to help eradicate eye diseases and this program is still going strong.
