TEACHING OTHERS - TEACHING ME

My weekend has been spent counseling others by phone. Daughter-In-Law (recent bride) called to ask what to do when her husband is in bad space. A friend called to ask what to do when encountering a landlord by whom she feels threatened. Another friend just called to work through a fear about money.... Sign in to see full entry.

FOOD, FOOD, FOOD . . . .

I'm so excited! My favorite knife is a Victorinox Fibrox bread knife. It was given to me by a chef or more accurately a professional cook who received it from a chef. It's a very cheap knife with an excellent blade that is more useful than a chef's knife and can be sharpened with a stone even though... Sign in to see full entry.

MORNING MADNESS

I watched myself hop into the car first thing this morning to run down to the local gas station to get a carton of cigarettes. That's madness, isn't it? Although the thought of quitting often crosses my mind, it never really happens. I'm not quite ready to give up smoking. It's what Husband and I do... Sign in to see full entry.

MY LITTLE CONTRIBUTION TO THE CAUSE . . .

... at the moment, I'm sitting here in our TV area watching "Once in a Lifetime", a movie about the New York Cosmos soccer team and Pele. It is my little contribution to the cause of diverting our youngest son, 23, from joining the Marines. Why soccer? Because he's a soccer a player. He's been... Sign in to see full entry.

SUNDAY IS MOVING DAY

No, we are not moving. We are moving our girl, J, along with two grandsons, into the apartment over the barn owned by the neighbors who live across the field from us. J has created an interesting experience for herself. She has two little sons by different fathers, neither of which she married. I... Sign in to see full entry.

IN STILL OF THE MORNING . . .

Alone at last in my 'writing' chair! Fall is here. The mornings are crisp and clear. It's cool enough to wear a sweater. The sun has that lazy golden feeling to it as it bounces off the leaves that are turning gold and orange. The changing of the seasons has moved us from sitting on the deck in the... AN AFTERNOON NAP

Husband is having insomnia again which means that I have a disrupted sleep pattern. He wakes me up at 3 or 4 in the morning. The cat wakes up and torments me until I let him out. Husband makes one or two trips back into the bedroom. Nature calls. Husband trips back into the bedroom at around 5 or 6... Sign in to see full entry.

IT'S TIME TO LEARN SOMETHING NEW, DIFFERENT . . .

The time has come for me to learn something new or different. I've been doing massage therapy for two years now. My regular clients receive a combination of massage, energy healing and spiritual counseling. My experience has been that no matter how long or how well I massage a person's physical... NO LEFTOVER TONIGHT

This evening my last appointment ran late. Before going home a second trip was made to the grocery store to pick up another piece of fish for dinner. As I was driving down the lane, my cell phone rang. The reception is spotty at best where we live so i stopped the car and leaned just so to the right... Sign in to see full entry.

AT THE END OF THE DAY . . .

It was a much needed totally alone on the farm day. No appointments were scheduled for me at the healing center so I spent much of the day alone on the deck reading and writing. I almost got a nap but the psychotic cat who lives with us insisted on taking a nap with me. That means he pawed and... Sign in to see full entry.
