I may be unable to do my field notes on Monday. My human has to see her psychiatrist on Monday, and she wants to drop in unannounced on the hospital's transplant clinic while she's there. Granted, I hope I'm able to do Field Notes Monday, but I'm not counting on it. My human is doing well today -... Sign in to see full entry.

8/17/2006 Nurse Garfield's Field Notes
My human's health continues to concern me. Yesterday, she was in such severe pain that she had to take some fairly strong narcotics for pain relief. Fortunately, they did work, and she was able to continue to write and do other things on the computer. She plans on seeing her doctor on Monday to... Sign in to see full entry.

My human found an article on WebMD about the symptoms of the various heat-related illnesses one can suffer during the summer. Let's start with heat exhaustion. Here are the symptoms, as listed on WebMD: Heavy sweating, suddenly turning pale, muscle cramps, weakness, dizziness, nausea or vomiting (or... Sign in to see full entry.

Pepper and I had a wonderful get-together over nip tea yesterday. I learned that she is an only kitten - the only member of her litter. My human says this happens occasionally; it happened to a cat who adopted her once, whose name was Huckleberry. My human adored Huckleberry; she and my human were... Sign in to see full entry.

My human got up last night with severe stomach problems. It took her a full five minutes before she felt capable of using the human box, and even then, the waste products she produced were abnormal. She's staying home today just in case she has to go to the doctor or hospital. I certainly do hope... Sign in to see full entry.

8/13/2006 Nurse Garfield's Field Notes
Today is a fairly calm day, so far. I wanted to get this set of Field Notes in before my humans left to go to church. I contacted Pepper last night. We made a date to go out - just the two of us - tomorrow, while my human is busy working here on Blogit. It will be nice to get to know Pepper as an... Sign in to see full entry.

8/12/2006 Nurse Garfield's Field Notes
We had a visitor today! He was a grey tomcat, who came to the front window to inspect the inside of our apartment. Then, he promptly sprayed a plastic bag full of aluminum cans, which proved that he was still intact (as opposed to neutered at the appropriate age) and marking his territory. My human... It's a gray, gloomy day here in Chicagoland. It isn't rainy as it was at this time yesterday, but I just felt like getting this entry in a little early before I went back to my nap. I spoke to Mickey again last night. Her human got some pain relief medication, and he has been put on a drug called... Sign in to see full entry.

I wanted to get this in now, in case the power went out again. We're currently under a severe thunderstorm watch or warning or whatever, and there is a nasty-looking line of thunderstorms just south of my area of Chicagoland. I'm worried about my human's ability to cope with this potential power... Sign in to see full entry.

I've been much more active over the past 24 hours, which has made my human happy. In fact, all morning so far, I've been begging her to change my cat box. It's filthy and full of feces, which I cannot tolerate. I allowed my human to clip a lump of it off my tail end the other day. She was surprised... Sign in to see full entry.
