A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

20 degrees today, but it felt as though it was 5 degrees, especially with the wind. I'm ready for it to be spring already! Anyone else out there feel that way? I just found out that a friend of mine from college is coming to visit over the weekend. He's on his spring break. He's been planning this for three months, yet he only informed me of this fact today. A few days ago, it was 55 degrees. Tonight we had snow and tomorrow the temperature is going to go back down into the twenties. Huh? I hate March. I checked the weather for Arizona, where my parents are right now. I tell you, I'm tempted to get out my credit card, buy a ticket, and join them! Today my boss at my internship was sick, and I was there for only a half day because there wasn't anything else to do. As a result, I got extra time at the gym. Always a benefit.:-). Because today I was listening to Hilary Duff. Hey, it's not quite as bad as you might think. Some of her songs actually have a good beat. I was also thinking more about M. Now, I promised myself that I wouldn't, but I couldn't help myself. I couldn't help but think that M is a lot like C. He allows women to walk all over him. So I decided to scratch the plan of having sex last night. But I did have fun, for a while. About ten of R's friends from med school came over for pizza from Grimaldi's and we all congregated in our tiny eating area to eat. It was the birthday of one of the guys, and they wanted to go out immediately and get drunk. We went to a place on the Lower East Side where I'd been before; because it was early, there weren't many people there. I stayed with the fuys for about twenty minutes, then cut out... R is having friends over from med school for dinner--he IMd me from school, where he's been studying, to ask. There'll be about ten people over here tonight. I'm glad that he bothered to ask. Later we're going out to this bar my roommate likes going to, a cheap dive on the Lower East Side. It was where I had that really awkward conversation with M several months ago, the night that the dog I grew up with died. It was actually one of many awkward conversations.
