"...And one more thing!"

And so here comes Winter again, unwilling to quit the argument with Spring. Several more inches of Winter on the back porch railing greets me this morning, and lazy flakes are dancing in the air. It is stacking on the spruce branches, looks like a heavy one. The lilac leaves, just getting started, are all encased with snow. This isn't as bad as it sounds: the snow insulates against the hard-freeze temps in the teens. I am not tired of being manditorily at home. I am sooo very tired of living in... We are not alone

Today is the second anniversary of the passing of Dame Daphne Sheldrick. Her legacy is the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, and the several stations in Kenya where orphaned African wildlife are rescued and raised to be returned to the wild. All those moments when you deplore the actions and effects of human beings on the planet, remember it's not all humans: There are the Jane Goodalls, the Daphne Sheldricks, and the David Attenboroughs and so many others, many we don't know by name, who carry on the... Return to Normal is the last thing we need.

Normal is what got us into this mess! To walk through this crisis into a cleaner, more sustainable, more humane world is what we need: A clear, determined change of tide to finally overcome the turmoil and resistance of the old tide. Many of those invested in the old will still fight in every desperate way they can against the new, and many will just sit back and let others with more energy, more willingness to put themselves on the line, make the change happen. Spring Winter Spring Winter...

Got my stack of bills all lined up for a pay-by-phone or online session later today. Then I can quit thinking about them for another month. I'm lucky, I can handle them all without anxiety for now. I feel for those who can't, I've been there, too, but without the circumstances of a pandemic to call for rent and mortgage relief. I dread ever being there again. Another bout of winter is coming. Going out today

Sunny and warm again today, half a week away yet from the next forecast below-freezings and snow. Yesterday I worked in the yard, adding soil from otherwise empty plant pots to the big new planting box on legs. It's about half full now. There are also several large planting tubs large enough for salad gardens and herbs. The old triangular boxes against the fence need freshening, but they will go for food gardening, too, I think. The potential of crisis

Thinking of all you writers and readers of Blogitland, hoping everyone is staying well and coping with the social-distancing/staying home directives. In The Time of Plague

That's settled: first thing once the salons are open again, is to make an appointment for a proper haircut. For now, I'm glad for the time for my home cut to grow out. I set up the air purifier this morning. It will make a great summer air-mover. And it may be imagination, but the air feels cleaner already, my allergy sneezing and itchy eyes have ceased. At the end of another week

(I accidentally posted this over in Kabu's comments, as I sat poised to say something about her post, got distracted, and came back to an empty field waiting to be filled!) Ten inches of new snow... Good morning, happy April! The tendonitis in my left elbow is still a thing, so I'm resting it and becoming more right-handed in lifting and carrying situations. Changes everywhere...!

By the end of the week, I'm thinking, I will be switching from a Gold account to Silver. This means deleting two of my blogs. Tuesday again

It's the day for trash and recycle to be picked up. I suppose I should put on my outside clothes, and get them to the curb. I got some things done with laundry and more closet storage solutions, did some other cleanup, got out the small shoulder-strapped vacuum, but at some point the coffee wore off, and the rest of the day and evening were kinda low energy.
