Sunny and warm again today, half a week away yet from the next forecast below-freezings and snow. Yesterday I worked in the yard, adding soil from otherwise empty plant pots to the big new planting box on legs. It's about half full now. There are also several large planting tubs large enough for salad gardens and herbs. The old triangular boxes against the fence need freshening, but they will go for food gardening, too, I think. Last night I ordered seed potatoes and seed packets for various... Sign in to see full entry.

The potential of crisis
Thinking of all you writers and readers of Blogitland, hoping everyone is staying well and coping with the social-distancing/staying home directives. It gets harder to stay indoors when the weather is turning to spring. Those of us with yards are lucky! It is taking longer than I expected to finish with the two blogs I want to delete. It seems that I must actually do a lot of cutting and pasting to preserve both my posts and the interesting comments that are all part of the blog's history. It's... Sign in to see full entry.

In The Time of Plague
That's settled: first thing once the salons are open again, is to make an appointment for a proper haircut. For now, I'm glad for the time for my home cut to grow out. I set up the air purifier this morning. It will make a great summer air-mover. And it may be imagination, but the air feels cleaner already, my allergy sneezing and itchy eyes have ceased. Charlie made the grocery run today. For just a few groceries it took half an hour of washing and prepping and repacking, following all the... Sign in to see full entry.

At the end of another week
(I accidentally posted this over in Kabu's comments, as I sat poised to say something about her post, got distracted, and came back to an empty field waiting to be filled!) Ten inches of new snow... Good morning, happy April! The tendonitis in my left elbow is still a thing, so I'm resting it and becoming more right-handed in lifting and carrying situations. My food still tastes good, the aroma of coffee grounds still delights, and there is still plenty of food in pantry, freezer, and fridge.... Sign in to see full entry.

Changes everywhere...!
By the end of the week, I'm thinking, I will be switching from a Gold account to Silver. This means deleting two of my blogs. What's in them now will be gone, but I'll be posting their kind of content to this one, The Ciel Show. Prompts will be going... and either Loosely Speaking, or Adventuring. I'll decide by the end of the week. If you have any thoughts on this, I am open to them. I've maintained the five this long because it meant having more pennies to distribute to everyone I read, and a... Sign in to see full entry.

Tuesday again
It's the day for trash and recycle to be picked up. I suppose I should put on my outside clothes, and get them to the curb. I got some things done with laundry and more closet storage solutions, did some other cleanup, got out the small shoulder-strapped vacuum, but at some point the coffee wore off, and the rest of the day and evening were kinda low energy. The comfy chair is seductive, especially when the back begins to ache, and then there is the inertia that keeps me there too long, more... Sign in to see full entry.

Hangin' in...
Another not-so-wintery day... I might get dressed later to go check the mail. I don't mind letting it sit in the box a day or so as I rarely get anything worth opening. I used to run to the mailbox just in case someone wrote me a letter, back before e-mail started making stamps obsolete. Still well here, no symptoms have arisen of any concern. I still taste my food, still sneeze enough sometimes to send the cat fleeing with slow dignity. She is also doing well. Embers lost a lot of weight and... Sign in to see full entry.

Facing into the Perfect Storm
...comes on with a dusting of snow outside, and a chill throughout the house. I woke with a bit of headache and started by making my first cup of coffee in several days. I've been hearing of how slyly addictive caffeine is--Michael Pollan discussed this on NPR the other day, and he does tend to know his stuff--and it is not the worst idea to give it up. But maybe not just now. I've also been reading about how sudden catastrophe brings on a mental/emotional response, especially for those who... Sign in to see full entry.

Thursday check-in
I woke early, went back to sleep... woke again, slept again... Then woke and read and slept some more... That's my greeting to the first day of the official state-wide Stay-home order. During the great closet-renewal, I strained my left arm above and below the elbow. Tendonitis, maybe? Tylenol helps, but it's still pretty sore. So now, as I do other things, I notice how much, for a righty, I use my left arm. Especially in the kitchen, where I open the fridge with the right, lift things out with... Sign in to see full entry.

Checking in...
Lovely day, sunny and warm enough to have the doors open to let in the spring airs... I'm still well, no signs here or next door of C-19 symptoms. Colorado official is saying this is the week Colorado can expect to get slammed with the numbers. My daughters in Washington State and Maryland are dealing with the staying home as well as anyone. One of the MD grandkids lives on the computer in the best of times, so that's not a great alteration in her life. The other goes back and forth between her... Sign in to see full entry.
