Update on mother and baby

My daughter remains in the hospital and they are now talking about keeping her there for the next 3-4 weeks, then delivery early by C-section. She asks if I can extend my stay out there at least another week. Charlie has no shows to go to, and is okay with it, I already know Embers won't like the idea. As it stands, I am flying to Seattle on Tuesday, scheduled to return the next Tuesday. It may be a case of simply not taking the return flight, then getting a one-way for the return while I'm out... Friday again already

Sun is shining on Pike's Peak... breezes are running through the treetops... Embers is taking up as much of my lap as she can, sharing with this machine, and lost in sleep as cats so often are... It is just past 7 and I have been up for a bit over an hour. This newer-to-me laptop has sometimes lacked my archives, especially photos, that I have wanted to access for one reason or another. Therefore, things are currently in shift-mode from my little external hard drive, copying some thousands of... Sign in to see full entry.

First days of autumn

It has been a pleasant week weatherwise, and things got done. The mattresses got donated, and the proof of it has been sent to the Nectar company. Borrowed costumes got returned yesterday... mostly. It is weeks since the show closed, and communication has been lame and embarrassing all around, and I don't think I will be asked to work with this particular theater again, so I won't have to decline the honor. Yesterday we also made a run over to Academy Art and Frame where Charlie entered three... Sign in to see full entry.

Happy Birthday, Bilbo and Frodo Baggins!

A pair of pantoums on this auspicious day! THE GUEST OF HONOR Old Bilbo Baggins is eleventy-one! For a hobbit, indeed a respectible age. Though he loves to sit out with his pipe in the sun He acts like a lad in his tweens, not a sage! For a hobbit, indeed a respectible age He’s well on his way now to match the Old Took! He acts like a lad in his tweens, not a sage-- In his eye there’s a bright bit of rascally look! He’s well on his way now to match the Old Took With a spritely spring in his... cheerful surprise this morning...

Flickr did it! Managed to load the video of The Wench singing a bit from Gilbert and Sullivan's PIRATES OF PENZANCE! https://www.flickr.com/gp/therovingeye/6b7y4J Sign in to see full entry.

Here ya go...!

https://www.flickr.com/gp/therovingeye/L02Q7S (I tried to load a video of a song performance, but it won't load on flickr.) Not a lot of photos... I did one walk-about to find food, and that stroll pretty much did in my back. The rest of the time I was hanging around the Compass Rose making sure people didn't make free with it without first putting their name to the waiver. And there were some kids... A local charter school that weaves, they say, art and performance into the basic general... Sign in to see full entry.

And here we are, back again...

From pulling out of the hotel parking lot to getting the Compass Rose stage unhitched in the driveway was about 2 hours today. So glad we were not making that drive last night after the Fest finished. We'd have been on the road probably the same time, but exhausted and stressed. Driving at night is not my best thing, particularly when hauling a load. The stage looks small, but it is loaded with stuff, and much heavier than other drivers might guess. I want to get a sign for the back to put up... Sign in to see full entry.

Pirate Fest 2019 Part One

Here are a few shots from yesterday. https://www.flickr.com/gp/therovingeye/60u1nd There will be more... This has been an easier trip than previous years as Charlie and Vale have done the setup without need of my bits of advice and suggestion, so I have been free to relax during the heavy lifting times. We are putting more emphasis this year on donations for the Compass Rose stage, with a table of various 'premiums' to thank donors. My station is behind that table. I did some walk-about... Northglenn Pirates, look out!

And here we are at the Northglenn Pirate Fest. Charlie and Vale are setting up the stage and the crowd-covering canopy. I am at the hotel which has some peculiar qualities. This is the place where last year the bed in my room was so high off the ground, I had to get the step-stool from the truck to get into it. On our way out I was told to ask next time for a handicap room. Well, I am qualified to do that, and did, and this year the bed is about knee-high from the floor, no ladders or... At home Tuesday

Tuesday soup from Sunday chicken... Or was that Saturday? In any case, today, it's soup. Yesterday it was boiling the remains, and today I added a few odds and ends--beets and eggplant that baked with the chicken, a can of water chestnuts, some onion... garlic and ginger... It wasn't yet right. So... some lime juice, dried parsely, fresh celery... Still nope. Okay, a can of coconut milk and some tamarind sauce that has been in the fridge a while... And there was a bottle of Indian red curry... Sign in to see full entry.
