The School of Choice and Free Will

In our Earthly presence, we are growing, learning, evolving souls in the greatest of all schools. In this school are many classrooms... enough to offer the lessons needed by each soul. And there are many grades, accomodating the very youngest in experience, and all, up to the most advanced. More or Less

To those who have much, more will be given. Those who have less will lose what little they have. This New Testament assertion perturbs the part of me that naturally inclines to lift up the underdog, to demand balance and fairness. It is intuitively wrong, socially irresponsible! It seems very unlike other messages of Jesus that promise the Earth to the meek and the poor, that teach that the man of wealth will have a harder time finding his way to salvation than the humble man. Walking the knife's edge

The thing is, "we" will never ever all be at the same level of anything at the same time, nor agree on the same values, or same best solutions. Money is very useful; greed is very destructive. We are a species in our adolescence. While there have always been the mature among us, the mature are only lately beginning to be in percentages of consequence, of the whole human population--which is way bigger than sustainable with current behaviors. Thinking good thoughts isn't enough.

Key here is the realization that we live and operate on different levels--of consciousness, of reality: that problems are best resolved with skills of their own level. Positivity has its role, but as the article points out, it does not cover all the ground we must to actually affect what we want to affect. We live in layers of the physical, of thought, and of higher consciousness, or intent. While they all intersect in a human being, and all the borders blend and blur, thoughts alone cannot heal... making something happen

I have just been going back through some of my older entries in this, my first and oldest blog, and found something that needs to be clarified. In one that offers some 'how-to' on grounding, I wrote about 'willing' your grounding to connect to the center of the Earth. But 'willing' isn't the best word for it. It implies too much effort. Back to Thought-forms and Realities...

GoldenMean, in previous comments, brings the conversation around to a problem of interfacing with thought-forms, especially when they are not one's own. about dysthymia

I was diagnosed years ago with this condition, described as being almost always just a little under the line between 'happiness' and 'sadness.' There may be occasional mood swings above that line, and sometimes deeper dives below it. Generally, though, it's about accepting not-quite-happy as the norm. In my case, the contributing factors are brain chemistry, treatable with drugs that enhance serotonin levels, like prozac; psychological factors generated by CPTSD, where most every memory is... In the world of dreams, time and space are entirely fluid, flowing in any direction, following no rules.
