Science vs Faith is not a thing.

My dad once said, "I don't need faith, I've got knowledge!" I think it was a response to my asking him to have a little faith in me. It was, however, his scientist-mindset all around. Scientists seek knowledge, or as close as they can get to something they can claim as 'knowing.' At the same time, true scientists know they never know enough to say more than, "It looks like this is true with the information we have and the tests we can make." Thinking 'And' instead of 'Either/Or'

The very act of city-building is to remove a culture's contact with the natural world. Humans wanted to be safer from the elements, more in control of their comfort and food-security. It's about the Love.

Am I a Christian? Well, no. Not as that is understood in the modern world... or since the times when Church became the main thing, and the teachings of Jesus were toned down or sideways by people who, however sincere, had their own favorite bits and agendas. Grandmother Spider

Since yesterday's post, I have done some further research, and discover that the term 'medicine wheel' was generalized from the one found in Wyoming by European explorers, who called that first one by that name. The Medicine Wheel

I came across an image today, over on facebook, that gave my heart a strange and wonderful jolt. It was of a medicine wheel in the Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming. I rarely feel such a reaction, but this was unmistakable and meaningful. It was 34 years ago almost exactly, that a friend living in Calgary told me of a medicine wheel she and her partner had found quite by accident a few years before. My Universe

I have been asked what I believe in... I believe in a complex Reality. It is not a Universe, or Multiverse that can be described in simple, linear notions. I believe in God, but not a God as much like Man as the God of Western Culture is taken for. I believe in Good and Evil, in Light and Darkness, but neither without shadings of twilight, of mixture and inclusivity. I believe in a limitless God.

This is why I don't use He or She as God pronouns, because either one limits what God can be, and attaches our personal emotional baggage to either gender-concept. In fact, I have always believed in some kind of Supreme Divinity, though my ideas of what that is have changed over the course of my life. I left the traditional definitions and assumptions behind long ago, as I realized that they were limiting and sometimes contradictory, and often based on the mindsets of cultures long gone, from... Lightening the Load

All my life I have had a hard time with those situations of silence, of lack of response to what I have needed, have said, have done, have asked... The need for response has made me a bit crazy at times, and if it is the long on-going situation--a lot crazy. It has killed relationships of all kinds. It has made insurmountable walls between me and my feelings, me and people I needed too much in my life. Being stone-walled in an argument has infuriated me, even tempted me to violence. For years...
