There is a universal theme in here... and this is my only blog now, so:

Beverly She made a list a day or two before of cookies, of a meeting and some charity she intended that would have come off busily, no fuss: ticked off, accomplished, if she had not died. When I was 3, my mother died suddenly. Being so young, after a few years I barely remembered her-- I remember a sadness when I was around 6, when I realized I could no longer recall her face. A few years ago, when my dad and step-mom retired and cleared out the house, they sent me the family papers, and the... Sign in to see full entry.

What Could They Be Thinking?

In their ocean, dolphins have developed their large, highly convoluted brains, and through attempts to understand what kind of minds they have, we have attempted to create a connection with them through vocal language. We, being creatures of an intellect tied in with our fingers and opposable thumbs, and using our eyes as a primary channel of data-gathering, have to switch channels, and understand what it's like to use hearing as the primary channel, and to be limited to mostly our mouths to... New Wine, New Bottles... more about language

To talk about a new thing or an old thing in a new way, we need new terminology in order to escape familiar associations that can lead participants in the conversation in the wrong direction, or even shut off their thinking altogether. In a society that automatically sneers at anything called 'psychic,' practicing psychics have to find a way to introduce themselves so they will not be stoned or dismissed before they can share what 'psychic' means to them. So-- we try to pin it down to other... Sign in to see full entry.

Speaking of... anything!

Language is being created all the time-- every new word, every new usage expands it; every word forgotten or abandoned -- 'obsolete' and 'archaic,' as English teachers probably still write on high-school poetry-- draws language up tighter. Jargon adds a set of specific vocabulary to one degree or another, but how sentences are put together--syntax is still the same, so I'd say that keeps it from being a whole new language, no matter how it sounds to those who don't know it. Language has to be... Sign in to see full entry.

#10 Can of Worms, Now Open...

One of the fundamentals of Gnostic belief is that the God of the Bible is not, in fact, the One, the Source, the Supreme Being. Personally, I have no trouble with this-- I've had that entity pegged for some time as one of various 'creator entities' that choose a people to be active agents in the material world and set about creating a reality.. I prefer another whose agenda is about co-creating a world with a chosen people, and for them-- rather than Yahweh who is all about creating a reality... Sign in to see full entry.

DaVinci, step aside: Judas has entered the building...

I've been reading the translation, recently published by National Geographic, of the Gnostic document, the Gospel of Judas. The document is translated in a small volume with the history of the Gospel- how this particular copy was found, restored and authenticated, as well as what is known about the original composition. There are also several commentaries discussing its contents, and how it relates to both traditional orthodoxy and other Gnostic branches of Christianity. I am fascinated to... How I Do Go On!--Table of Contents

Here is the updated Table of the Contents of this blog. There are 10 items per page, but here and there have been bits that must be considered as 'asides'-- so the page splits are not always on the "X1st" chapter, but they are near by. 1--If you are disappointed in God... 2--A Model of the Human Being: I don't have a soul... 3--Death and Past Lives 4--It's a Puzzlement! 5--More of My Model of Past Lives... 6--I Used To Believe In Old Man God... 7--A Circle Within A Circle Within A Circle... Response to Factorfiction's question in the previous post's comments:

Calm & neutrality sometimes have to be a very conscious choice... Grounding and centering help one to be there, but sometimes it seems to be a matter of having your conscious Self calm and neutral, while watching the kids-- the parts of you that whoop it up with excitement, and carry your outward self along with them. If you keep that calm at the center, after a time, those 'kids' may learn something of its value. In THE HOLOGRAPHIC UNIVERSE, Talbot goes into considerable detail describing how... Seeking the meaning of life, the universe and everything... here y'go!

I've been re-reading Michael Talbot's THE HOLOGRAPHIC UNIVERSE. Wow! It isn't new-- came out in 1991, and I had a copy that I read about 6 years ago and then loaned to someone who lost it. I found a copy at a used book store on Sunday, and snatched it up. I had forgotten what a great, epiphanous book it is! This is the book that makes everything I have written here make sense: It is the framing and foundation and connecting pieces of the Big Picture, the great jigsaw puzzle of Reality I have... News Flash-- EVERYTHING = ONE

Not spiritual news, I know-- just this: I have condensed my presence here on Blogit to this one blog, which is the one that has the most point to continuing... I have not been writing or adding much to any of the several I had of late, and decided this is the one most worth continuing to pay for the option of continuing. Sign in to see full entry.
