Coolish day here. Not bad for mid October but it's definitely not June here. The wind is moving a steady 20 to 35 mph, making it less pleasant. It's coming from an odd angle, giving the house an odd moaning noise. Perfect for writing a spooky story! Sign in to see full entry.

Exactly The Same But Different
I like watching some of the old time television shows such as the "Twilight Zone" and "Alfred Hitchcock Presents." I was 'binge' watching some of the Hitchcock shows from 1955 and 1956 and saw a plot I liked. It was based on a story written in the late 1940's. I got thinking about it and I think I... Relentless
I was talking to a friend of mine who is also a writer and she brought up the "relentless schedule" you have set for yourself. She tells me that if she gets 500 words a week into one of her novellas, it is a good week. I reminded her I 'make myself' write 800 to 1500 a day. She thinks I'm crazy but... Playing The Waiting Game
Well I got the email saying my story, formatting, and cover had passed tech and Amazon allowed me to order up to five copies of the proof copy. They say I'll have them on Wednesday. My last concern will be the quality of the book. Just as a test, I've started another in behind the first one. Maybe... Sign in to see full entry.

Does This Dress Make Me Look Fat?
Another very productive day on my latest story here. I'm not sure if I should be happy or upset that I am 4,000 words into this story and am just now beginning to get to the spooky stuff... another 750 words or so from now. One must set the scene for the reader but I didn't plan on being nearly... Sign in to see full entry.

A Robot and A Haunting?
With racing and my race reporting career now done, my weekends are my own, I've got to spent a lot of time writing on my newest offering, "A Haunting Of A Small Town" and a book for my youngest grandson Johnny, he of "The Darkness" fame. It's odd to be writing about death and destruction in one... Sign in to see full entry.
In Response To Kabu
Good point Kabu. Allow me to explain why I used that form. I have found that anytime there was an accident, the other people would refer to them as 'they' USUALLY meaning the driver and their car, especially when the gender of the driver is not or was not clear. In this case, there was no evidence... Sign in to see full entry.
About ManBearPig
I have to run over to Holland Michigan today, roughly a two hour trip. It is about 45 here with a steady 25 mph and it will get worse as I get closer to Lake Michigan. Fun fun fun! Bow season for deer opened Thursday and they have already thinned out about seven deer from the woods behind us.... Sign in to see full entry.

Plants
Timing is everything. As I was working on the new short story, I realized that a clue/important fact that I needed to plant had been over looked and panic set in. I came here to see if I had already published that section and found that I cut the story just a few sentences before I needed to add a... Sign in to see full entry.

Close Every Door To Me
I post an 'epic' 1800+ word story as the final chapter of "The Touch." I almost dreaded writing that but as I went, it became easier. With it, I closed a number of open doors to an event that has touched me ever since it happened. I'll gladly entertian comments and questions should you feel the urge... Sign in to see full entry.
