I have torn my 'Caretaker' story apart by sections and am in the process of reassembling it. This is the trouble with starting a story in November, then dropping it until late February and hoping to come out with a story that makes sense. I've pulled all of the sections that I classified as... Sign in to see full entry.
Making Good Use of A Sleepless Night
I didn't sleep for diddly last night. I had too many things, ideas, and thoughts going through my head. I got up, tried to write {couldn't} rearranged my entire office {not an easy task in the tightness of that room!} Added one more computer {to make four computers in the room} and finally figured... My House, Snow Banks and All
I'm running behind. I normally take at least a dozen calls by 10 AM on Mondays. I passed that number ten calls ago. These are all business calls so far, but the other calls will start soon. They always do. The frustration that builds some days as this process goes on will cause me to stray from my... Sign in to see full entry.

An oER doc I used to work with is going through my 'Caretaker' story to be sure that it is 'medically correct.' He just called to ask how many words he could write in the introduction write up he will do. Naturally, I told him to keep it under 25,000 words. He knows what I'm talking about. He found... It's nice outside, roughly 38 right now with a light wind. I suspect that I may gather up the dogs and head up toward Lake Superior to get some more 'bay shots.' I'm not sure if I love taking those because they are so spectacular, or if it just strikes a cord in me someplace. I could post different... Sign in to see full entry.

Darn (Adult) Kids Anyway!
I'm not sure what happened to my southern gate to my backyard, but it appears someone smacked it with a snowmobile as they raced down the back-alleys. They hit it right where the western post and gate meet. I had to dig the fence out (confirming how deep the snow is!) and then push the corner pole... Sign in to see full entry.
While it is still cold right now (18 degrees), it is supposed to creep up to 30 today. Tomorrow is supposed to be 40 with no major snow in sight. I can take it. The fifteen day forecast says temps to remain in the upper 30's with not much more then 20 at night. Again, I'm ready for that! I have to... Sign in to see full entry.

Just How Bad Are The Roads? Hmmmmm...
I had to go over to Seney to talk to a man about a story I am writing. He had a lot of info I hadn't seen before, so I ventured out. I almost didn't make it home. It is dark now, but this shot was taken about two miles from my home. This is M-28, the main east-west state highway across the UP. Those... Sign in to see full entry.
I Think I Am About To Lose A Friend
I don't know if I've told ya all here or not, but 'Ron,' the guy who owns the dirt track where I have worked every summer weekend since 1991, developed lymphatic cancer last fall, and has been getting weaker by the day. He's had all of the chemo, but still has the feeding tube in and can't eat 'real... Sign in to see full entry.
Baby, It's Cold OUtside!
It is still snowing on and off. The wind is blowing something fierce, it's about 14 outside, and I've decided we ain't going out to the lake today! Oddly enough, looking at the 15 day advance forecast, this is winter's last 'huff and puff' before falling to temps in the high 30's and low 40's. Soon... Sign in to see full entry.
