We survived the first big storm of the year here in Florida without much damage. The power was out for about five hours, and we had a tornado warning. I don't think an actual tornado landed, but the winds were extremely high. I have lived in Florida for twelve years before this last move, and I have... Sign in to see full entry.

I'm posting this by cell phone. We have what was being touted as 45mph winds and heavy rain. The power is out and I suspect that it may stay that way for a while. We are tucked in safe and warm right now, so I think we are good. Take care. V Sign in to see full entry.
Here is something that I learned the hard way. I wasted a lot of time before I figured it out! Experience is the thing you have left when everything else is gone. Sign in to see full entry.
We have a heavy storm JUST to the west of us. I went down town to pick up some milk, and ran into a blinding rain that started three blocks to the west. It was a real struggle to see. In the way back, I hit that same area, and it stopped raining. The radar shows the storm moving to the northeast... Sign in to see full entry.
Good morning. There's not much on the schedule today as we give ourselves a day off. I'm not sure what the wife has planned, but I am sure she will tell me when I 'need to know.' It is supposed to be warm again today, but the temps will divebomb into the upper 30s tonight with only a high of 55... Sign in to see full entry.

We've had a good day talking about how we intend to proceed here. We got to talking about what we wanted to do, and I told Lisa my biggest wish. A ll I ask is a chance to prove that money can't make me happy. Good night! LOL Sign in to see full entry.
Happy New Year. If you were ever a fan of the early 70s show, M*A*S*H*, I would tell you as they did in an episode that discussed this day. Happy New Year, may it be a damn sight better than the last. Amen. I woke up this morning, and I gave Lisa a hug, and I thanked her for being my wife. I thanked... Sign in to see full entry.

Happy New Year
Cheer for endings -- whether goals have been met or not, whether the end is tidy or ragged. Without endings, there would be neither the opportunity nor the incentive to think new thoughts and begin great new projects. Remember that happiness is as contagious as gloom. It should be the first duty of... Sign in to see full entry.

Good morning! It is supposed to touch 80 degrees sometime today. I just checked the temps back in Newberry and found the current temp was 19. Typing that made me shiver! I'm sitting in shorts, socks, and an open window in my makeshift office. If I were in the UP, I'd be in heavy clothing and my... Sign in to see full entry.

If I were to look at the local radar, I would suspect that I would find nothing but blue, sunny skies. Instead, I have a heavy cloud cover that looks like it could spring a big leak at any moment. Florida, ya know? I had a project going that included the heavy rain we are predicted to have in the... Sign in to see full entry.
