This was taken on our honeymoon in August of 2020, just to the west of Munising, along the Superior shoreline. I have read that since then that a bunch of knuckleheads tipped it over, proving that about the time you know the dumbest person in the world, a new contender pops up every day. Check it... The Old Man
In my six years of being in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, this old guy was the one moose who never seemed to mind if I got close to him. I called him "The Old Man." I was standing about fifteen feet from him when I took this shot. A tree had fallen close to the railroad tracks, and they trimmed... Sign in to see full entry.

Sunshine Lake
It was almost dark, with the sun dying in the southwest corner of the lake. Just as the angle grew, the colors exploded. Check it out! Sign in to see full entry.

It's Not the Dark Side of the Moon... But Close!
It's been a while, and I'm going to spend the day working on my Vella projects, so I thought I'd throw this photo out here. This is the back side of the Tahquamenon Falls. Trumpeter Swans Landing on the River
That I caught this moment on camera was either pure luck or a miracle. I was standing on the little 'bend' in the river and looked up to see this pair of Trumpeter swans coming in 'hot.' When they finally got stopped they were less than ten feet from me. Check it out! Sign in to see full entry.

The Flag Waves On The Mackinaw Bridge Over the Fourth of July Weekend
This is a tradition that started in 1958 that continues today. There are two HUGE arches like this, both about two miles from their respective shorelines. This flag is about 50 feet long, which should give you a perspective of how tall the arches are. I had to run to Newberry to take care of a... Sign in to see full entry.

Mother and Child
I watched this mama clean her little one, feed it, and 'talk' to it as it wanted to 'go play' on the edge of the savannah and the forest. The little one saw fun and exploring, but mama knew the many dangers of allowing her little one to stray Check it out. Sign in to see full entry.

Brockway Mountain Near Copper Harbor and A Quiz
Most people don't associate Michigan and mountains together, but the western half of the Upper Peninsula is very mountainous, especially west of Marquette. This is in the upper tip of that big jut into Lake Superior, in a small city of Copper Harbor. Many shiploads of copper were mined from this... Sign in to see full entry.

Isle Royale Bay
My nephew and I spent three days on the Isle Royal National Park. It is a huge island far out in Lake Superior. The facilities there are rare and sparse. You are outnumbered by wolves and moose, both of which would kill you 'just because.' They don't fear you. They see you as prey. Despite all of... Sign in to see full entry.
