This is another "honeymoon" photo from when we visited Keweenaw Bay in August of 2020. I was surrounded by beauty... and the bay was pretty, too. *Smile.* Sign in to see full entry.

Wood Turtle Preparing to Drop Her Eggs
One of the trails I often would travel in the UP took me along the shores of a glorified swamp/lake, depending on how much rain we had gotten lately. This 10" female was digging a hole that ultimately would be about six inches deep. Once she was done, she would cover it back up and disappear back... Sign in to see full entry.

No Man Is An Island
I have three versions of photos using this poem by John Dunne using different islands at sunset. No man is an island, entire of itself. Every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. Sign in to see full entry.

Flowers From In Our Backyard
I'm not sure what the proper name for this plant is, but it has dozens of beautiful red flowers. If anyone knows what it is, let me know! Thanks! Sign in to see full entry.

A Seat To A View
This is another "honeymood" shot. The land mass on the left is Grand Island and on the right is the mainland of the UP near Munising. We sat on this bench for an hour after this photo was taken, talking and enjoying the view. Sign in to see full entry.

Kitch-iti-kipi in Winter
This ninety-some feet deep natural spring is beautiful every day of the year, and it was one of my favorite places to visit in the UP. The name means "big cold spring" in the Ojibwe language. Sign in to see full entry.

A Peek Down The Snowy Trail
I can't remember when this picture was taken, but I think it was one of the first times I took Lisa out in the forest in late 2018. Sign in to see full entry.
