Calming sight and tears

There are a few pelicans that stay around on the sand bank during the low tide, in front of the apartment. And I've noticed that 2 of them are always together, swimming or standing on the beach or fishing.... Actually, they don't seem to do a lot of fishing around here: they wait for the... Macho-men and desert

I've noticed a little something that I don't recall noticing before! It started in New Zealand actually. Or, more exactly, I started noticing it there. But, it must have been going on every time we came in Australia, surely. I'm talking about the way men won't look at me when I am with my Mann and... Sign in to see full entry.

Fruhlingfest in... Queensland!

We went to the Fruhlingfest of my nieces and nephews's school yesterday and had lots of fun! How funny to be on the other side of the world and participating to a German Spring Party! Can't escape Germany, it seems. Why a German party in Aussie? Well, first of all, it is NOT commun in down under.... Sign in to see full entry.

Mangonui...New Zealand

My Mann would like to retire in New Zealand. Did I already tell you? He bought a small block of land some years ago overlooking a nice little bay and the ocean farther away. It is in a small little town at about 30 km from the nearest city of a few thousand souls (remember the whole of NZ population... Sign in to see full entry.

The Giants of the New Zealand Forests: the Kauri

Once upon a time, there were in New Zealand thousands of majestic huge trees called Kauri (pronounced ka-o-ri). The tips of these giants were standing 100 feet (30 m) or more over our heads and their trunk were about 50 to 100 feet (15 to 30 m) of circonference. A few of these trees did survive... New Zealand, part II, the roads...

In New Zealand you don't go walking in the forest or in the trails, nop, you go trampling. And what beautiful trampling one can do in this green mountainous country with the ocean which is never too far! To go farther and a bit faster, there are roads and the main road in NZ is the highway 1, it... Sign in to see full entry.

Back from New Zealand

It's been a long time... We're back from New Zealand and it was fantastic! Beautiful green country and not too too cold in the north on the north island!LOL We were there for 8 days and had only 2 days of rain (the locals told me that this was very good indeed for NZ). A few things I noticed on the... Sign in to see full entry.

New Zealand tomorrow...

We are packing our stuff again today because we are going to New Zealand tomorrow morning. Hopefully my back will be up to it. It is healing well, I think, but my sciatic nerve is bothering me every time I sit. I have been trying to add a page or two on my web site but can not sit long enough to... Beautiful winter day in Sunshine coast

The weather is still fine. there are women and their babies doing the aquaerobic in the municipal pool while the pelicans dirft lazily with the current and I hurt my back 3 days ago, so it is the first time I can sit in front of the comfuser for Blogit! Stay put for more details..... Tschus,... Sign in to see full entry.

The Whitsunday Magic

The tallship on which we spent 6 days is 90 feet long, weights about 200 tones (10 of which were fuel) and is called Whitsunday Magic. And Magical it was! It is a 3 masts beautiful tallship that looks much older than it actually is: I thought that it was at least 100 years old while it was built in... Sign in to see full entry.
