Last day on the Sunshine Coast

That's it guys; last day in Australia. It is 36oC, sunny, a gentle breeze...And it's WINTER! We're leaving tonight (or tomorrow morning, if you prefer. We're taking the bus to the airport at 3 AM, so!). The plane trips themselves are going to be shorter than on the way here (24 vs 29 hours) but we... Sign in to see full entry.

Another fantastic day on the Sunshine coast!

Another great day at the Sunshine coast! We went driving on the beach again to the colour sand and the red canyon. It's fantastic: there are 70 diffrent colours of sands there! From white to orange, red, black... Just beautiful with the sun shining on it. The first time I drove on a beach was there... Sign in to see full entry.

Three fishermen in a boat

The tide was not quite low yet this morning when I woke up and there were three men standing in a small dingy boat, fishing. There was another small boat close by with 2 men, also standing up, fishing in the river. It was very calm water, no waves, not much tide movement, and no wind. The perfect... A peaceful island in the Maroochy river

We kayaked across the river to the island today and it was beautiful. We went during the low tide, so as not to have to paddle too far, and the beach was fantastic. The island is now a park and no buildings are on it. It as natural as can be, with the mangroves growing all around on the shoreline,... Sign in to see full entry.

So much Sun in this sunny country!

Why is it that there are not more Aussies using solar panels? We went to visit two couples, friends of my bro-in-law, who have been using solar panels for 20 years, probably more in the case of one of them, and to our surprise, they both told us that, nop, once installed, the systems don't need much... A frog on my toe!

We spent the night at my brother-in-law's place last night after a very nice BarB with friends of theirs. The occasion was to "watered" the bar put up by the cattle shed. You see, my bro-in-law is a Md but really, a gentleman farmer at heart. And so, they have a few cattles here and there and needed... Sign in to see full entry.

Noosa Head and a Hump-back

Yesterday we went to Noosa Head for a walk in the park. It has changed so much that, although my Mann has been going there for holidays since he was 18 yrs old, at one point we were wondering if we were going in the good direction towards the beach and the park! And he had seen it only 3 yrs ago,... Sign in to see full entry.

FInally, Heidelberg on the web!

We had our first storm last night: first rain in about 1 1/2 month, so, no complaint here! Because of the storm we had trouble with the internet connection, but it seems fine now. So, there you go: I have finally added two pages about Heidelberg and its castle in my web-site. Have a look if you... Sign in to see full entry.
