Black Swans, Birds of Paradise and Trouble...

Last week I read, audio booked actually, The Garden of Eden by Faye Kellerman, listened to Pimsleur's book on HINDI for the month, read the Burnt House by Faye Kellerman, and perused a real book on Miniature Books, wanting to stop everything and make some myself!!! This week I have been listening to... Sign in to see full entry.

I was just now reminded about why I used to write in Word and then post to

blogit. I just wrote a lovely, one of my lovliest posts, I'm sure, for Another Day at Grandma's, and when I hit save and post, it went out into the Big Nada. Bummer. 556 words, it said, sigh.... So, remember what I had forgotten, when Blgoit did this much more often in the old days, write somewhere... Sign in to see full entry.

Not writing about others, but rather, writing for others.

My Pakistani daughter at the U of A asked me to help her to apply for a job by aiding her in filling out the job application. I researched the business, researched the best answers and answered two questions on the app for her, which she had to make her own later and I wrote a poem that they wanted.... I started reading Amber_Mendoza's blog post and it went on forever.

And, here's the funny thing, I wanted to follow it for as long as it continued. And it went on for a long time. You know how we are advised to keep each blog post short, well, that's not how Amber works. I was there and concerned or interested in her people and their circumstances and story. Good... I am hitting Blogit's Home Page more often and searching for new people to

put on my Favorites List, to follow for awhile and see if I like their writing.... They will not necessarily be new to Blogit, just new to me or old ones who somehow fell off my Favorites List in the past....got lost, fell out of my car, were erased from my pages, dunno. I still have... Sign in to see full entry.

My friend who watches over special needs foster kids...wants to write a

book. She wants to do a children's book and I have avoided discussing it much with her as she wants me to illustrate it. She has been juggling three book ideas for years.... Now, she has me going over the words with her....what to write and how to put it and I foolishly agreed to work at it with... Sign in to see full entry.

I remember a world where the police were the good guys, mostly.

Writing mean scenes into police books and feeling wronged by the police was a rare and surprising thing. Now, no one sees them as the go to person in a bad moment. Writers routinely make them the bad guy, the perp in their detective novel. CNN confirms their choices. Can writing about good cops turn... Sign in to see full entry.

Reading bloggers' comments leads me to find new people to read....

When someone reads and likes one of my Favorites and then posts some comment which proves interesting to me, I follow their name and then read their posts and this way I often find new people to add to my Favorites List. Sign in to see full entry.

I, like other writers, feel the need to script a youtube segment....

As I lay in bed for such long hours, for so very many hours, I imagine what I would publish as film on youtube. What would I say? What would I put before the viewers' eyes as I said or screened the words, my words for them? Am I joining the younger generation by wanting to go visual and not just... Sign in to see full entry.
