My Biological Clock

I can't have a kid. I can't have a kid now. I can't have a kid with a disability now. Yet I know that when I go to Uganda, my friend will attempt to get me to adopt one of his orphan students. But I can't do it now because my care program is too out of wack for one thing and I'm getting my Ph.D. I... Sign in to see full entry.

What Not to Wear

I hate people who don't know how to dress for the job they have. Even my assistants sometimes don't know what to wear when we go out to sophisticated events. Of course, jeans, shorts, and work clothes are fine if we're just hanging out or going out on the town for lunch or errands, but really I mean... A Bit on Trek

I messed up. Forgot to post to this blog yesterday, but luckily you get to mess up one day per month on 100words.net and I'm glad for that. I was hoping to use my "mess up day" on Christmas Day, but no such luck for me. I'm watching Trekkies, the Star Trek documrntary, now. It's fun to see how far... Sign in to see full entry.

A New Reality Show...

While we have reality shows like Survivor and Project Runway (where people complete to become fashion designers). I wish there was a reality show for who could create the best new nonprofit organization with $100,000 of seed money, plus doing all of the required tax paperwork for you. My idea is... My Biological Dad...

I just a check for $200 from my father (who's a sort of low life, who doesn't really appreciate me as a person- he called me defective once- but he sends me money every Christmas and birthday, which I never ask him for). I never know what to do about this money. I usually donate the money to various... Sign in to see full entry.

Question (May Incite Some Anger)

Is racism a socialized mental illness? That’s the issue being discussed on the episode of Law & Order I’m watching. I have to admit it’s an interesting theory, but I can’t really buy into it. Especially when it’s used as an excuse to get out whatever criminal acts said racists might commit. On the... Sign in to see full entry.

The Conversation...

Easygoing chat with best friend and ex-girlfriend, reduces me to tears in the night. At her kind offer, "Do you need me to come take care of you?" "No," I reply, not wanting to be her obligation or responsibility. Not after everything we've been through and not like this. My wheelchair doesn't make... Sign in to see full entry.

My Day at the Movies

Saw the Chronicles of Narnia today at the movies with Bob. It'a really great film with unicorns, talking animals, and really neat child actors. Bob and I only got in because we didn't need seats (We're both in wheelchairs). It was a well spent three hours, but it didn't feel like that much at all.... Sign in to see full entry.

This Day...

I have nothing to write about. Slept all day due to a magraine because of my period (it happens every month). Christie stayed over with me because my night person cancelled-again. I am watching Monk, my favorite TV show and having a healthy snack before bed. Then I'm off to sleep and go to movies... Sign in to see full entry.

On My Inner Geek

I admit it... I'm a closet sci-fi geek. I love Alien Nation, Star Trek (all series), cheesy genre movies (I've seen Total Recall and The Running Man a 100 times at least), as well as reading and writing (although nothing has been published yet in the genre. Of course, in my regular life as a... Sign in to see full entry.
