Racism is not a mental illness. It's simply believing a lie. Once the truth is discovered, no matter what the age, if the person is willing to accept it, their racist nature will change. I'm black, and years ago, I met a former Klansman, a man then in his forties. I didn't know his past until he told me about it. I would never have guessed it without the confession.
