Determination does pay off...

I'm tickled pink and of course, my blogit family is the first to know. I just go my first real assignment. Last week I felt a bit in a rut, writing for the same sites again and again and I was looking for new avenues. I went through a list of about 60 online travel magazines I had accumulated and... The benefits of ironing.

Has vogue now totally lost it? You may well ask, because those who follow me, know that I am the ultimate domestic she-devil, quite capable of boiling an egg...in cold water! What would I know about ironing? This, however, is a serious post, prompted by Pat_B's entry about a visit from Ms. Block -... Sign in to see full entry.

The seven sleepers

Here is another tale related to Ephesus. It's the story of the Seven Sleepers. They were seven young men who were persecuted at the times of Decius (around 250) and walled up in a cave on the slopes of the mountain where Mary's house is located. They fell asleep and..miraculously woke up, well and... Sign in to see full entry.

Modern Turkish art

The Ephesus museum has a small section downstairs, dedicated to modern Turkish painters. As far as I'm concerned, it shouldn't have! The most remarkable thing that can be said about that one room is that it is a huge let down after all the marvels and fantastic art of antiquity. I don't think that... Sign in to see full entry.

My personal Ephesus highlight

Even more than the site itslf, which is massive and often crowded, I like to Ephesus museum. Compared to museums in London, Paris, NY and Athens where you can admire Greek and Roman art, this one is tiny. But that very fact mkes for its harm. They don't have all that many statues and artifacts, but... Sign in to see full entry.

The Turkish Lourdes

Today, we set off in Jean and Steve's recently acquired car to visit Mary's House and the museum in Ephesus. Here is our departure picture: Kathy, one of our neighbors, Steve and Jean on the right, vogue taking the picture. Jean doesn't have a stomach ache, she is ashamed of the weight she has put... Iiiiiii - a typo in my previous post

That's one that can't remain uncorrected. It's of course my friends Jean and Steve, not my fiends. Funny what difference one letter can make, isn't it? Sign in to see full entry.

Last trip in Turkey

Few people are now left here in our complex, but luckily my fiends Jean and Steve who live here year around are among them. There isn't that much time left before I go home to Miami so we decided to go and visit Ephesus on Wednesday. They have never been but I have. Here are two pictures from my... Vogue's latest enterprise

Didn't I say yesterday, that the blog posts I like most are those which start with the words: Inspired by... Well, I got inspired too by auslander and gapcohen and their excellent blogs and websites outside the scope of blogit. Which is why I decided to strat a blog of my own, dedicate to the single... What if...

The blogit entries I like best are those which start with the words: "Inspired by....'s blog". It shows that ideas, stories, pictures, even jokes, reach the eyes and minds of readers and ignite a little flame in their imagination to take matters further and add something of their own. Which process... Sign in to see full entry.
