Chritian (and Jewish and Muslim) Mystics Truly Understand

I am fascinated by Christian mysticism. A Christian mystic is a person who believed that "God" was attainable to everyone. They did not believe in a personal God that was unnattainable. St. John of the Cross, St. Teresa of Avila, St. Augustine, Thomas Merton, these are just a few who felt that one could come close to touching "God" through reflection within, though some, like St. John of the Cross, saw the journey toward "God" as perilous and frought with danger and the possibility of death....
