I've Turned My Back on Me
Thanks for indulging me as I begin to write some verse again. It’s hard for me to understand when humility asks for help, why I tend to turn away. Or why I avert my shamed eyes from compassion’s small sad face, a s he passes the alms tray. Or how I can pretend to be an important busy man, w ith meekness down on one knee.
