I go through this is practically every school I teach at. People who go to church, send money to missionaries, lend a hand at school and otherwise engage in good samaritan activities, cannot seem to get the idea that people of other colors and nationalities are real people too. Or, they do, but they... Sign in to see full entry.

Immigration -- It's time to act............................................

The immigration bill passed by the senate, 62 to 36, will allow 200,000 new immigrants per year. It will more than double the 11 million amount of illegal immigrants bandied around. It is a reasonable and fair way to include new Americans. I like it. I realize there are those who do not. The house... Sign in to see full entry.

Round Up the Usual Suspects................................................

I can say this: I had my own constituency. They had no one else, like his did. I suffered the slings and arrows of racist behaviors In a government setting. Then you came along... You said you were here to help; you lied to the man. You told me obliquely that you would destroy me I didn't believe... Sign in to see full entry.

Tim Chavez, a writer for The Tennessean,

Writes about Affirmative Action from the point of view of what he calls Hispanics. They differ from Latinos in that they have Spanish as a common connection. Latinos evidently are a mix of black, white and indian. His point is that we should not discriminate in favor of one minority over another.... Sign in to see full entry.

"White and Black", New Original poetry by kingmi

There was a time when two children could be playing in the yard, Air as crisp as autumn, an evening as dry as August, Fall out among one another; that is: Fall to quarreling, for one reason or another, And one go home crying to papa. Who appears on the lawn of the other; But the white man on his... Sign in to see full entry.

My Retort to JanesO vis-a-vis my exhortation of White America..............

The past is history. We need to learn from it and move on. We are presently in the middle of perpetrating the same crime against Mexican children, as we did for fifty years against African-American children. Isolation, ignoring, tracking, refusing services to: all were mistakes that we made under... Sign in to see full entry.

Final Conclusion: Certain Americans Are Expendable.........................

My vice principal visited me on Tuesday to s=ask if I intended to be at school on Monday May 1st. I was taken aback because I have a perfect attendance record going for the last seven years -- not counting emergency leave for my mother's and daughter's hospitalization. I would never think of missing... Sign in to see full entry.

Argument # 3 from Savage Inequalities, by Jonathan Kozol. Financial plans have improved the funds going to the poorest neighborhoods. However, the rate of increase in funding for public education is equal to, and higher, in the suburbs. Poor neighborhood schools, while improving their grounds,... Sign in to see full entry.

These bloggers are screwed. That's what it means, for real!...............

Argument #2, as seen in the book Savage Inequalities by Jonathan Kozol.. Financial proposals to balance the low-tax revenues in the property-poor neighborhoods, do not assure “equity”. True equity is not possible, as this would involve a social revolution which would have to have taken place... Sign in to see full entry.

Bloggers who do not care and do not try, have a very good reason why.......

I have jotted down what I can remember about the book: Savage Inequalities: Children in America’s Schools by Jonothan Kozol. Argument # 1. The major argument of the book is that geo-politically, the schools, located in the property-poor areas of a large city -- such as East St. Louis, Illinois;... Sign in to see full entry.
