Whew, correcting that umpire test was time consuming and kind of draining. I ought to know the rules pretty well by now, so I'm anxious to start actually umpiring. Well I'm almost certain to be offered that job, the question is, should I take it. On the one hand, it's money I can count on. On the other hand it takes time away from writing and maybe umpiring. I'm ticked off about the insurance company raising my rates. I thought it had been established that the accident last fall was not my fault. I thought that's why they lowered my rates. I'm finally back to good health, now the trick is to stay that way. Finished the umpire test for Howard County and mailed it out today. It was a tough test. Pointlessly tough I thought actually. I was wrong about this year's April virus being shorter. It's still hanging in there although I can feel myself getting stronger. This should be the last day. I seem to be past the worst of it. If so this is my shortest and mildest April virus in about 10 years. Had another batch of cards rejected by A&M, I've got both ready to send out to Oatmeal. April illness, that's good news because it's much milder than usual.
