Saw this picture on a website and remembered when we went there to see Deep Purple. To be honest it was not my sort of music. A teenage thing really, but I was still caught up in the excitement of large festival gigs and so we went. A small gang of friends, who were mostly people I had gone to school with or let lodge in our house. It was muddy and wet, but not too bad. Although the bus did get so bogged down they had to bring in a tractor to dig us out, but not too bad. Most of the acts were... Sign in to see full entry.

Virtual Insanity?
If new tech is coming along, I don't think it will be in the form of more gadgets. People are so prejudiced to putting things on their heads or in front of their eyes, the VR or Augmented realities will simply not work. The new Meta-verse is a total scam and will never take off. The only thing that will is something like the Holo-deck on Star Trek Generations. A place where you simply walk in and find yourself in a new world is just too tempting to pass up. Of course, people will want this in... Sign in to see full entry.

3x5 World
I think the whole world will move to 3 by 5 inches. That's the average smartphone size. I had to get a smartphone because the business account required me to use only a phone for security. So I had to get one. I use my old phone to make calls, but I have to admit that the smartphone is the future. There is little that you can do on a laptop that you cannot do on a smartphone. Every APP is used to move information from the big screen to the little screen. Not sure if I trust the security that way... Sign in to see full entry.

Some success
Had a small victory with Mother phoning my sister. If you have been following this sorry blog, you will know that I've tried over the years to get my Mum and my sister to talk to each other again. With the death of her partner Clive, Sarah is on her own now. So Mother finally saw my point of view and felt sorry for her and rang her up. Everything was OK and they chatted happily and I dare to think things might work out. Clive had cancer for years and it finally caught up with him. What did not... Sign in to see full entry.

More Jabs
Took Mother for her first Covid jab today. The queue was a quarter of a mile long, and we stood for three-quarters of an hour in the cold. I was very worried she would be too ill to go through with it, but it all worked out OK. For someone who had not been to a Doctor for 30 years, I was amazed she even showed up on the computer. All is well for now, but I am worried she might react to the side effects. We'll see. Sign in to see full entry.

Back to work?
I might have to return to full time work The money is running out and all my capital is tied up in the stock market. If I keep taking out from the principle of the capital, it will run out. I only need to work for 3 months maximum for the money to get to work and return me enough to live on. If I keep taking it out, it will not. The are plenty of jobs which I could do, as I have a car. But the biggest worry is my mother. She would be really upset if I went back to work and I'm not sure if I can... Sign in to see full entry.

Old works
Just looked through my file indexes and wiped out some old rubbish that I hoped people might read. What made me think people would have ever read that rubbish (as opposed to this rubbish?). Should we keep that old stuff? I've felt comfortable with the old entries here on Blogit. Although I have cut a lot of stuff out. I just did not feel that was ME anymore. When I look back over the web, I often think: "What are my old friends doing? And what sort of things are they writing?" The sad truth is,... Sign in to see full entry.

Still here!
Well, the car did not pass and we got a new (ish) one. Problems with that but I hope to get them fixed. The really big news is the fire in the village. A local guy, well known for doing his own DIY had to stand and watch his home go up in smoke. I knew something was wrong as the local dogs all began barking. The air outside was filled with smoke and the smell of plastic. I walked through the village to make sure Mother was alright at the Manor house where she worked, but they were all OK. The...
