Fear faced squarely, disappears

Have you ever been afraid, owned your fear, faced it, only to have it evaporate? An easy example is stage fright. In college, I took a job introducing short "mental health" skits presented to PTA groups. Each night of the play, I would find myself in the bathroom filled with anxiety and dread. Then the time for my introduction would arrive. I would step up on the stage, take a deep breath and begin.
