Disturbingly biased news coverage

Here is a copy of a letter I just wrote to the managing editor and assistant managing editor of our local paper this morning: * * * * * * Dear Mr. Ripley and Mr. Rice, There is something very disturbing about the Tribune's coverage of the car crash that killed Phillip Staun and Martin Bonilla.... Boy, do my feet hurt!

I want to a.) plunge them in a vat of cold water or b.) have a foot massage. Since it's practically impossible to get cold water out of the taps right now I guess I'll just have to recruit the Baby Bunny. Maybe some lemon sorbet would help, too... ( Eating it, not putting it on my feet!... Sign in to see full entry.

More vacation notes especially about music

As anyone who read who read this blog two days ago or who has scrolled down a bit knows, I spent last week with my family in Charlevoix, which is in northern Michigan. We were there during Venetian Week, which is a manufactured attempt to stretch the traditional Venetian Night into a week-long... Sign in to see full entry.

Afraid to celebrate

The sewer gas saga may be over, but we've had so many false hopes that I'm afraid to celebrate. I'm not sure when to whoop for joy, praise the Gods, post to everyone who knows our troubles or otherwise tempt fate. Yesterday we had that smoke test. It makes the house smell like a combination of... Sign in to see full entry.

Day Two of Less TV

Once again, between camp and dinner, then Baby Bunny went to the piano on her own to practice. I played a duet with her. I asked her to practice her clarinet, and she did it without complaining! We did the TV dinner things again in front of Will & Grace, then I took a shower. I'm not sure what Baby... Sign in to see full entry.

Day One of less TV

I almost forgot to start recording this! On my trip, I decided to implement a few family changes: making "dates" to do project with the Baby Bunny, not eating in front of the TV unless it's one of our regular shows or a baseball game, and no TV before school or camp for the Baby Bunny. Today we ate... Sign in to see full entry.

Random Notes at the end of a Wednesday

It's not the heat.... Here in the desert, you step out of the pool, and ten minutes later your suit is dry. In the midwest, you step out of the pool, and ten days later your suit is still wet. What people with no common sense do after they graduate.... A junior member of a state government bureau... Sign in to see full entry.

And the winner is....

We got back from our vacation in Charlevoix Monday night. For those of you who haven't read my entries of a week ago, that's in northern Michigan and it's pronounced SHAR-leh-voy. I drove up there with my Dad, the baby Bunny, and my brother and his family. Otter joined us on Wednesday morning. We... Sign in to see full entry.

Triumph over shaky technology!

It took me an hour to get connected, but -- praise the Gods! -- I have internet access. As much as I'd like to pretend I struggled for the sake of the Bunny Blog, it was really for the sake of business. I'm too tired to write about all the things we did today. But here's an update: 1. We're in... Sign in to see full entry.

Time to catch up!

Sometimes at home I'll walk out to get the paper in the early morning and the air will be cool and slightly humid, and I'll think, "This is just like mornings back home!" But when I'm actually in Michigan I realize there's no substitute for the fresh, green, wet smell of a midwestern summer morning... Sign in to see full entry.
