When I worked at Adams Printing Co., in late '59 and 1960

there was a Linotype machine, complete with a gas-fired pot of hot lead, and an area where the lead type could be melted down, poured into molds and re-used. The long sausages of lead had half-circle hooks on one end, and were called pigs. We had a big dumb country boy who worked there at the time.... Sign in to see full entry.
