A BC Special…Part I

The other day BC told me she was tired of Muslims, and could I maybe write about something else, LOL. I told her I’m also tired of Muslims, and I have been for a long time. So here’s something else for her and everyone – something I’m sure will delight all – at least this part: I’m even more... Sign in to see full entry.

Without Christianity, Europe ceases to exist…

In a paroxysm of insanity, in the 20 th century Europeans killed six million Jews and in the process destroyed most of their Judaic heritage. I say Europeans because Hitler’s Germany had ample assistance from within the populations of the countries German forces occupied. The destruction of the... Sign in to see full entry.

There’s a great spectacle coming up…

As some of you may recall, one of my hobbies is physics, especially astrophysics. Well, there’ll be an ‘astrophysical’ show in couple of weeks – on August 21, to be exact – a solar eclipse. It’s a total eclipse that will make its way across the United States from just south of Portland, Oregon, all... Sign in to see full entry.

My doggie…V

Notice that, on Ben’s instruction, I left out the ‘poor’. Yesterday the vet took out all the stitches without the slightest fuss and bother, and my Bennie decided that he had enough of being an object of pity! He is quite cheerful again, and the only reason he’s slouching a bit when we’re outside is... Sign in to see full entry.

My poor doggie…IV

Just a quick update… I’m keeping the title only for continuity’s sake – it really no longer applies, and Bennie would be the first to agree. The ‘drain pipes’, (sorry, Kabu, ‘ drainage tubes ’) have been dug out, and the vet told me he’ll remove the stitches on Aug 2. My doggie is quite cheerful... Sign in to see full entry.

My poor doggie…III

Again – thank you all for your good wishes, and I’ll give you a quick update. Bennie is moving around quite freely now and doesn’t show any signs of being in pain – of course he’s still on medication. You’ll recall the drama with the ‘Elizabethan’ collar that caused him to whine and complain for... Sign in to see full entry.

My poor doggie…II

First of all I want to thank you all for your expressions of concern and good wishes for my Ben. Maybe, in some mysterious way, they reached him as well, and if they did I’m sure they made him happy. And of course I told him about them… I had all the necessary medication and instructions from the... Sign in to see full entry.

My poor doggie…I

I had planned a different post for today, but… Some of you may remember the posts about my Ben, the ‘rescue dog’ I got shortly after I lost my Jag to cancer five years ago now. A German Shorthair Pointer, he’s a dog bred for hunting and retrieving, very active and intelligent. Of course I gave up... Sign in to see full entry.

A good question…

The other day a buddy and I were sitting over a beer and, as happens occasionally, we ended up chatting about politics and politicians, especially the current the Canadian crop. I don’t recall why the question came up, but I’m sure you’ll agree it’s one that almost begs to be asked, given the... Sign in to see full entry.

"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet"...

As Shakespeare has it in Romeo and Juliet. And he’s right – but that’s true only for roses… Anyone who even occasionally reads the stuff published or listens to the news disseminated by the mainstream media knows there are certain things that are simply not talked about. And if it really can’t be... Sign in to see full entry.
