Truck vs Blogger, Truck Wins, Sort of...IV

Yesterday I had surgery on my thumb. Today I look like the character in a cartoon, on crutches, one leg in a brace, one arm in a cast, who’s being asked, ‘Were you hit by a truck?’ ‘No, I just suggested to my wife she might lose a little weight!” ‘Oh? What happened?’ ‘She sat on me!’ But, of course,... Sign in to see full entry.

Truck vs Blogger, Truck Wins, Sort of...III

Most of this past week I spent in waiting rooms, either at my own doctor’s office or at hospitals. I worked out the ratio of time spent waiting vs. time spent talking to or being examined by a physician: in my case it comes to almost exactly three hours of waiting to five minutes of direct contact... Truck vs Blogger, Truck Wins, Sort of...II

I am not used to being incapacitated. I am not used to having to ascend stairs one step at a time, placing my crutch, moving my ‘good’ right leg first, while shifting the weight on my left side onto my crutch. And having to reverse the process when descending, backwards: crutch and ‘bad’ left leg... Sign in to see full entry.

Truck vs Blogger: Truck Wins, Sort of...I

As many of you already know, I was hit by a truck a couple of days ago, while riding my bicycle on a pleasant country road. Another possible hiatus, this one enforced...

I hope you bloggers will forgive me if I do not read as many of your blogs as I would like, let alone comment, or post extensively - but while taking some time off this afternoon, riding my bike along a country road, I got hit by a truck coming out of a side road. Nothing appears to be broken,... Sign in to see full entry.

New Revelations about Differences between the US and Canada!

Well, I’m back home, after more than two weeks, back at my computer and, I guess, back in Blogitland. Most of my time away I spent in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada’s ocean playground, with very dear friends. Travelled around the province as well, visiting familiar places, and more friends. And I’ll... A Haiku Interlude...

I'll be away for a few days, and I intend to withdraw a bit from the world...who knows what it will look like when I get back? Meanwhile, here are a few haiku, not all of them quite conforming to the rules, in that nature does not have the prominence it should have...unless we concede that all is... The ‘Duh’ Factor…

I do watch sports, especially baseball, and recently I got really wrapped up in the World Cup, (and I hope you all know what World Cup I am talking about.) One of the things that detracts from my enjoyment of whatever I am watching is the commentators’ (there are always at least two, sometimes... Sign in to see full entry.
