'Now you can be a real mother to your son’, Candice the director of the ABC Childcare centre told me as I tearfully explained to her that I would not be using the ABC Centre’s services after the end of the month of June. There was no sympathy offered or even empathy with my situation, just a strangely cynical and critical attitude of ‘well that’s that then’. ‘I’ll make out an invoice for you until the end of the month.
